Well, I must admit that I’m only a neophyte with regards to Woodstock history but, one tidbit that I found particularly interesting during the program was the early association Levon Helm (The Band) had with the Woodstock concert, as I had never read anything about that connection.

I’m a big fan of The Band ………..

Anyway, Brian Williams also covered the anniversary on this evening’s Nightly News (this is fresh material that was not included in the Dateline program)

I think so too but, I’m biased as the Blu-ray essentially (in words, plus or minus the promotional and sale bit) will have the same alert as the Assault Vehicle does on the back………..

Who is on stage?
Who
That's what I'm asking you!

Do you see The Band on stage?
No, that's a different band entirely!

Start about 4:45
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkBz4ML_Dls

As for Ponyo subbed prints, your theater had to specifically request one. Thanks to my incessant nagging on the last 2 Miyazaki films, they now tag-team 3 dub and 2 sub showings

Wait, are they playing Ponyo subbed some places? Anyone know how to find a place that is? I remember Spirited Away was, but I was also in LA at the time, so it was probably easier to find...

Default Enderle is goofy

Enderle is back at it!

This is pretty much his worst article ever.

http://news.digitaltrends.com/talk-b...ill-no-bargain

I LOVE how he uses a speculation comment from John Carmack to start a rumor about the PS4.

Penton feel free to rip him a new one.

Wow. Any consumer who is even slightly 'in the know' will read that and conclude that the guy is just lost, or a liar, or both. There are so many false statements in that article....amazing.

I think he and people like him get most of his clicks from people like us coming to look at the car wreck.

Oh I have! Even the HD-DVD diehards are not commenting much on it.

To net this all out, look at two top-of-the-line players. The Oppo BDP-83 Blu-ray player sells for $500, but has the same strong scaler (unfortunately not the Marvell ) as the $169 Oppo DV-980H upscaling DVD player. You could buy three of those players for slightly more than the price of one BDP-83, and you’d enjoy your existing DVD collection and the majority of Netflix movies, which are still mostly standard DVDs, and do it more rooms.
What a complete idiot. He has no clue what-so-ever.

Probably because most of it is couched in opinion. And probably because he'd be a waste of time.

That's right, it's his "opinion"

Personally I would support a law requiring lobbyists of all kind to register, and not be able to hide behind "I work for Schmo Technology consultants", and their "opinions" prefaced and bookended, and their lower third namecard on TV read something like

"Rob Enderle sits on the paid advisory panels for both Toshiba and Microsoft, creators and lead marketers of HD DVD and opponents of Blu-ray"

Which would effectivley make shills like him useless, but could conceivably be enforceable under existing truth in advertising laws

Sadly I think it will be a long time before any government entity catches up advertising laws with blogging and twittering. It's soooooo easy to pretend it's not.
Clearly it's the next advertising medium. There are people paid $50k a year to tweet 8 times a day about how good pizza is. I want that job.
