The auction Item Details specifically stated…….”There will be no lack of additional props you can add with it.”

Yes, I do as I was also monitoring that item.

As to wowing you, it sorta depends upon if you are a *tool guy* or not…….

Oh, one last note for this morning.

This bit of News from the News Page sounds good.
Just strike the word "Apparently".

Default District 10

Just sos ya knows, I started a District 10 thread for fans to speculate about the plot of the possible (yea right) sequel to District 9. Seems a lot of us would like to see the human race vanquished... el permanente.

If you owned the home video rights of this property (District 9), all things considered, when would you make it available on Blu-ray (possible screeners to Academy members aside).

Anyone?

In time for the Holiday shoppers for sure. Early Dec.

Pass the word. No passive aliens in D10. Punish us for the atrocities we committed

If I knew what was planned for December, I could give you a better guess. However, lately the last couple of years, it seems almost every August release manages to find a date somewhere in December. I'd probably release this one the Tuesday after Christmas, or 1/5/10. Sony kicked off the new year with "Pineapple Express" this year. Maybe they can do the same with "D9" next year.

Well, we’ve got late November, early December, late December/early Jan., mid-Jan.
No consensus so far.
Sheesh, this is like a committee meeting in the Marketing Dept.

Anyone else with an opinion?

Mid-December or early January. You either want people to buy it as a Christmas gift or to spend their gift card on it.

Hard to say. With the rather uninspiring summer so far at the cinemas, this is a strong contender for the sci-fi crowd, along with the home theater junkie. Let's face it, this hasn't been the summer everyone was hoping for so despite what should be stiff competition for the Blu-ray buck, this one may hold up quite well as a must have for the Blu-ray crowd this holiday season.

On top of that, Sony hasn't had any really huge titles this summer. Angels and Demons was good, but I don't think it will be a must have on Blu for most of the demographic out there. Year One fizzled. Pelham will be a good one for the format since it plays to its strengths (pic/audio). But District I think would be Sony's best bet for a strong Blu-ray release for the holiday season. I would put it out around the 15th of December or around there. But that is just me.

District 9 isn't popcorny enough to do well in the Black Friday blitz (and that's a good thing), that's the worst time in the world to release it.

Honestly, i think a tie-in with Martin Luther King day might be appropriate somewhat. There's certainly a lot of parallel themes. It might not work in practice, but it's an idea

I have no idea about what's best for the Academy but it would be great if District 9 was released before the holiday rush. I think late October/early November would be idea.

I might have to go see it again this weekend. I just loved this film.
