I have wanted to know that too. I have heard no word on it, and it seems as soon as Toshiba quit, the rest of HD DVD quit too (mostly).

For all the recent questions concerning a certain toPic, suffice to say that when money has changed hands and was in the pipeline to change hands at regular intervals, it takes a little while for lawyers to sort out who it belongs to now, "I want my money back", "I aint giving you no money back", etc.

I don't think any money should go back, after all it was the money giver that called it quits, not the money taker.

Hmm, interesting development. I didnt think of that one. But it makes sense. Hopefully those dummy lawyers finish up quick.

Don't you love that the legal profession can take months to flesh out something as logically simple as this

It kind of like asking for your money back at a brothel because you didn't feel loved

Yeah, that one was easier than the word jumble in today's L.A. Times.

It makes sense, too. This contractual hangup won't be a case of, "Oh, no problem. Let's all be friends." In fact I'm sure it will be a tad bit complicated for the parties involved to reach a compromise in order to iron it out.

I think only highdefdigest made a point of headlining them now.

But Toshiba and Universal WERE essentially the HD-DVD PG, so I could only imagine with them out of the picture, that the propaganga group went down the tubes with them.

That is way to funny,

on a serious note, I was under the impression that when Toshiba and Universal left the HD DVD PG, the "toPic" was out of contract.

I was afraid that the promo group would be little *****es......

I think they are free, the toPic that was hinted about has to do with later installments that had not been paid yet (e.g. are they gone, do they still come in increments, or a lump sum?).

I think Microsoft had a part-time job there - but they quit last month. It's getting hard to remember now when MS spokespeople were the most visible HD DVD supporters.

Penton-man, would you say that perhaps one of the parties is starting out demanding sPecific Performance of their contractual agreement?
