Penton, I have two quick questions about "Once".

The win for Best Original Song seemed to get a great reaction for the audience at the ceremony.
Do you know if the movie was close to being nominated for some of the "bigger" categories?
It's obviously a very small movie, and normally there would be nowhere near the Blu-ray install base to justify a BD release. Would the Oscar win and the exposure be something that would influence expediting a possible release?
(in general, not just for "Once", although I am asking specifically about Once, LOL)

since we are discussing the awards show, I enjoyed that Mr Bay got a bunch of love in the comercial breaks.

that aside I'll now go and review footage looking for that little detail to see if I can pick you out.

That is correct. People here know the actors in Hollywood... but the segment at the Oscars deals with pretty much everyone related to film, so long as they're an AMPAS member. If they included EVERYONE involved in the industry, member or not, the awards show would probably still be going on. And it really wouldn't be fair to include an actor who isn't a member, without including others who aren't members.

Hiya Penton.

I thought this was the best thing I've ever seen at an Academy Awards. It showed a real kindness, a real compassion, on the part of Stewart and/or the Producers. I'm somewhat jaded about Hollywood, and shows like the Academy Awards, and sometimes think it's only about money, production value and time tables. This was a very authentic, and wonderfully human moment that really moved me.

If you know anyone involved in this decision, I hope you will pass on thanks to them for this wonderful moment of kindness.

Penton do you get any inside info about future (in theaters) releases. Two I'm particular about. "Tenderness" with Russell Crow and the remake of the Korean film "My Sassy Girl". I worked as a coordinator with those films at our amusement park and worked with them closely. Do you know anything about the release of those films?

Just to give you a little background parts of "Muppet's Take Manhattan", "Fatal Attraction", "Big", a lot of "Sweet and Low Down" and Mariah Carey's "Fantasy" video were shot there.

While not High School dropouts -- the following "political commentators" never received a college degree: Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Don Imus. I listen to Imus and sometimes listen to the other two. I watch Jon Stewart. And I rarely agree on all issues with any of them -- but that does not make their opinions any less valid than mine because I have a post-graduate degree. Some people in the Hollywood community have always had a rather cantankerous relationship with Washington politicians ever since the days of the House Un-American Activities Committee hearings, which ruined people’s lives…..or some other Committee hearings/investigation on the Hill that I can’t recall from back then.

In regards to Stewart, I would imagine that most of his material is provided for by the writers. You know, the same guys that many people were rooting for during the past work stoppage. I suspect most of the writers graduated high school.

Like Wicky said, *enough*.

Still, like I said, that’s good to hear and will perhaps dispel some rumors in the industry regarding their future intentions with the Final Cut Studio software asset.

Well, it certainly can’t hurt. Who owns the rights? Fox?
B.T.W., the general consensus is that the big boost in a movie’s visibility for future theatrical box office (which should also translate into disc sales) actually comes from it just being nominated.
Winning is icing on the cake.
