I notice that you noticed that the reboot now has received a formal name. I hope the Spider-Man crew cap fits. My sis mentioned to me that you folks got a tad bit of wind over there yesterday.

P.S.
Long range forecast for next Sunday in my neck of the woods calls for the chance of rain on Sunday.

O 2 B a Gooner!

Congrats, P-Man, you're now only one match behind!

Very glad you got to see it- it was one of those "be there" moments.

Did you see the post-match interviews? For me, almost as impressive as the performance itself, was the attitude, in its wake, held by Mssrs. Fabregas, Van Persie, et al. Our fearless professor sure knows how to build psychology.

, indeed.

Hey, it’s great to see you’re able to make the dive trip after all. If you carry a camera please take a few snaps and post them. Just not too revealing like some of these… http://mydoubts.net/images-ruin-childhood/

Although, I would like to know if the rumors are true that the Cozumel tourist dive folks are quite the rowdy bunch these days, and do similar things to this (Deci, go ahead and blow it up and grant access to all).

No, was that on FSC after the match itself?
Do you know if there are reruns as I already erased the dang thing.

Yeah, it was pretty windy yesterday. It was still pretty nice outside, though.

How's the filming on Spidey going?

If you mean the F.A. Cup this a.m., I figure that Arsenal was safe to get through that one.
I did hear though that our American International who plays for Everton applied some whup-ass to Chelsea yesterday.

Other than the fact I can't watch Sony Blu-rays without the subtitles engaged because they have no dynamic range control anymore?

I'm serious. Before I could watch stuff like Air Force One at a decent volume and not wake the neighbors but not anymore. 2012? Fuggedaboudit.

(The amount of misinformation in that thread was astounding)

Popcorn entertainment, though AFO is a better all-around movie. 2012 is plain stupid but the VFX is eye candy for me.

OK...I can watch Glory at a decent volume.

Why does Sony bother to encode dub tracks in a lossless format? Seems like a waste of bitrate.

Being better than 2012 still doesn't say very much .
Might I suggest using a decent pair of headphones when you want to watch a movie late at night?

I was in the same boat. That's why I picked up one of these:

The complex doesn't take kindly to daytime rumbling either.

Unfortunately that's stereo only. My 7.1 setup (quite a bit of cash invested there) requires a bit more. Which means a new receiver with it built in, which means around $2500.

Some audiences listen to dub tracks. If their high audio quality inclusion were to truly compromise picture quality to any visually significant extent then the practice would be re-evaluated.

I think something which is more interesting/ominous for home theater enthusiasts to worry about is why despite the maturing of the Blu-ray format since its initial launch, is there apparently more than one recent example of Blu-ray movie titles now with a lossy *main* audio track.

No, this is new, not just to this thread but, for that matter, I'm sure to any forum on the internet. < those are 3D glasses the little dude is wearing.

I’ll give you first dibs at a shot to this question, as some folks tell me that not only are you a closet aficionado of ‘the beautiful game’ , but also, an admirer of the extra dimension.

So first, a little background - Due to the fact that the order from Sir Howard to shoot some of the 2010 FIFA World Cup…in 3D came down rather late (or close to the actual opening of the competition), the 2D camera team(s) had already contractually gotten their pick of the litter in regards to the prime camera placement locations at the stadiums and the poor 3D camera crew was left with *the scraps* , so to speak.

Therefore, unbeknownst to many (and though I’m a bit hesitant to publically reveal this), not all of the footage seen on the Blu-ray of the FIFA World Cup was acquired (shot) in native 3D….meaning some of it was actually 2D -> 3D converted. Given the fact I think the prevailing attitude over the internet is that *real* 3D is so superior to all *fake* 3D, the converted material should stand out like a sore thumb, or at least be readily identifiable, so, what footage on the Blu-ray of that fine international competition do you think was converted?

This is your time to shine as I haven’t noticed any reviewer even hint or suggest the presence of any 2D->3D converted material from the World Cup on the Blu-ray edition, in fact, a couple reviews I’ve read actually describe that footage of which I’m referring to, as actually being some of the most superb imagery on the disc.

That reminds me, regarding AVATAR, if anyone has viewed this 3D Blu-ray title given its restricted distribution to date, has anyone discerned which shots were converted? Easily over 20 shots or so were actually 2D->3D converted material, heck, all totaled…. closer to 30 or 40.

Anyway, since sharkshark asked about this in the past, I’ll reveal one - the scene in which the corporate type (“Parker Selfridge” < ?sp.) argues with Sigourney Weaver in that control room setting having all the windows in the background.

Like I said, they’re more.
