Neither of which utilized Sony 4k projectors for their 3D presentation of Hugo. All the affected scenes (of which there are a tiny handful, so as not to spook future viewers), that I noticed exhibiting this artifact were high contrast shots characterized by large disparity and most likely too deep to fuse on any theatrical projection system without showing signs of ghosting.
Oh I certainly don't think it was because of the projectors. I've seen enough 3D presentations on the Sonys with no issues to know that.

On another note, what's up with the bare bones edition of Fincher's latest? Care to add any comment on this? Fincher's releases tend to be a bit more robust than the early buzz indicates?!

Doc, you’re missing the point as you don’t have the proper perspective.

Fortunately, I didn’t see him at the Underworld Awakening premiere last night at Grauman's Chinese Theater. Could have scared some patrons away.

Not a chance, I don’t want to lose my job...then my home...and subsequently move into my mother-in-laws’ basement with my wife and our pets all the while spending my time re-tooling my resume all day long.

But here’s an ‘extra’ for free ….

Doc, are you still quibbling over this? There is evidence that the 4k home media fanbase at large (to whom I was responding to micks_address with his query) is clamoring for info on possible 4k capability with the future Playstation 4.

Check the appropriate 4k thread(s) we have here on the forum.
Some say yes, some say no.

I think Sony should be applauded for a brave move in bringing 4k to us. The bottom line is that they were involved in giving us the best home viewing format ever, and it looks like they will do that again. If they do it through the PS4? Even better.

don't know at large. My guess you are right since most people don't know what is going on around them most of the time and I would guess much more than 50% of PS fan base are not even discussing when the PS4 will come out or what it will be able to do. But definitely here there are a few people discussing it. And I don’t think there is a thread on 4K or PS4 that does not ask if the PS4 will do 4k

Well, as Tsuruta-San has declared…”the target is not for 1080p resolution, but reflect a drive towards 8k x 4k”, which is the ultimate goal.
http://eandt.theiet.org/magazine/201...-interview.cfm

If and when a rest stop along the drive (4k for Blu-ray movies) is implemented in the next PlayStation incarnation is a matter of speculation among 4k-at-home enthusiasts, at least on this forum, as well as some in the press –

Some say that studio executives are *clueless* about the nitty-gritty of the motion pictures to which they green-light and only take interest in such things as sitting next to Brad Pitt at the Golden Globes…

Well I think many folks would be surprised to learn that some studio executives are thoroughly involved in even the most esoteric nuances of their films…

Yeah, I can just envision how it would go in their basement while watching Super Bowl 46 with our dog during this upcoming VW commercial...

Dang, close to 6 million hits now! Name that tune.

Hey Penton-Man, thanks for getting the time to answer our questions.

I have a couple of them:
1. When do you think (if ever) we will Friends on Blu-Ray? Is it that expansive for studios to remaster old TV shows?
2. There are some talks about 8K, but we still haven't gotten to 4K content. Do you think we will skip 4K altogether? What are the challenges of producing 4K/8K content and why haven't we seen them yet?
Thank!

Hi, any knowledge about where to get a replacement disc for BAND OF BROTHERS? I purchased it in "like new" condition off of Amazon and it came with 2 of disc 6 and no disc 4.

You contacted Amazon and CS was unable to help you? I find that hard to believe.
