"It would appear Petertorr (talk · contribs), an employee with Microsoft, has opted to edit on Wikipedia"

I also liked this comment:
"I have an issue with someone working on the HD DVD team in microsft editing blu ray articles.. I mean when your make a living off a competitor.. there is an inherint conflict of interest -Tracer9999 02:46, 31 October 2007 (UTC)"

Just thought it would be good for everyone to know that Microsoft pays employees to edit Wikipedia. Sad thing is this guy is a Manager for the HD DVD group there.

Hmmm, RDjam/HDNOW, Lee Stewart, GizmoDVD, maybe Dave Vaughn too, are all PAID bloggers, even though Mr. Vaughn is a "neutral" journalist.

I agree with you. Sometimes people are not able to dicern "real news" from biased opinions mixed with news. High Def Digest News: biased towards HD DVD (NO question) about that. Susan A. BIG TIME biased towards the red. Obviously, there are people that are biased towards blu-ray. You must "deduct" the real facts from all of the opinions and propaganda that is written. Blu is in great shape!

I know that the other user names are noms de bullshit, but is the Dave Vaughn user name his real name. The reason I ask is how hard it would be for a "journalist" to live down (once the "format war" is history and the truth is known to all) some of the crap & outright lies that is being posted from the hid-divd side.

I think after this is over, his credibility will take a serious hit, when Blu-ray is the mainstream format, people will remember his antics. Not everyone mind you, but a lot of people have LONG memories.

It's difficult with all of the biased people out there, MS probably has a lot more bloggers than we know of spreading out FUD... and failing miserably.

Susan A? Doesn't ring a bell... another blogger/journalist?

This is true. In fact, I just sent said as much to someone. I think Dave Vaughn is now being quoted and seen as a "leader" by the HD DVD trolls/fanboys/Fud-sters. If Dave Vaughn wants to have a career after this is over, he's got to be really careful with being seen that way. I saw he posted something of a clarification in the Disney thread. If I were him, I would post clarifications in all of those FUD threads over there (stating he never said anything about Disney and only commented on WB numbers, etc), and he should absolutely 100% cease discussing numbers and studio support with ANYONE. He should also be careful about the information he is being fed...it's starting to look quite possible that someone is using him, and he doesn't even know.

GizmoDVD is no insider, he's a purple nitwit who is solely devoted to HD DVD (despite his 37+ Blu-Ray movies). He was, for a long period of time, a major nuisance over at Cheap Ass Gamer's Format War thread (he uses the name GizmoGC there, but it's the same dude) - but as many of the people who frequented that thread either went purple or remained Blu, he disappeared.

He's no insider, he's certainly not paid (I'd want my money back, personally). He's an admitted troll, and also someone who is known for wholesale posting of other person's posts at the CAG forums and elsewhere while taking credit for it. He's surely absolutely *gleeful* that y'all are mentioning him in the same breath as DV and rdjam - and I am willing to bet he does read this thread. At the end of the day, he's just another Chad Warden kinda cat; an unpaid shill for something he himself isn't fully committed to (since 1/3 of his hidef movies are BD), and a childish prat who just wants to stir things up.

Frankly, I'm amazed that y'all are paranoid enough such that you can't see through his guise. Lawd a'mighty it's paperthin.

Can't Sony just come out with a commercial explaining the advantages of BD over HDDVD? If it was pushed hard it could have maor impact.

Ahem....very slightly back on target...

If WB gets royalties from HD DVD and is getting "incentives" to stay with HD DVD, these numbers for some of these high profile releases like Potter and PE aren't too convincing that blu-ray is the clear winner.
Well, in the case of PE is this really a valid comparison? I mean, the HD-DVD version was released almost a full year prior to the Blu-ray release, and the HD version only managed a slight edge in sales?? Are they just looking at the week-over-week sales, or totals since release?

It would be like them releasing Forbidden Planet (finally, please!) on Blu-ray on New Years, then noting that the HD-DVD version had slightly outsold it by the end of February.

Enron accounting? Am I missing something in the analysis here, Insiders? Bueller? Bueller?

Weren't both the Blu-Ray & HD-DVD versions of PE released on the same day - April 24th 2007?

He and "xboxboi" seem to have taken a shine to a guy calling himself "Lotus" on avrevforum.com who is claiming to be a studio insider. "Lotus" is claiming the following will happen at CES:

New Line going red, and LOTR announced as TL51 titles.
Disney's BD contract (for free BD50s) is up on January 1st, and that they are going neutral.
Warner going red or staying neutral (definitely not Blu, according to him).

Sample post from Lotus 4 posts down on this page:
http://www.avrevforum.com/showthread.php?t=980&page=39

(This same guy claimed 200k sold for Bourne Ultimatum, which seems ludicrous)

god, CES is going to be the best week ever. I cant wait to just talk so much shit about all of these lowlifes posting this garbage.

http://forums.highdefdigest.com/showthread.php?t=389

This same junk went on last year when BD was dead in the water.....now BD is prosperous and they have even MORE doom and gloom than last year, how strange.

It’s not important whatever the case.

You dont seem to worried about xboxboi and his goober friends' perfect storm (WB red, Disney neutral, NL LOTR 51's) scenario at all.
