I don't know why would people, even Blu-ray supporters, disagree with this statement. Granted if Warner goes HD DVD exclusive, they will have momentum but its not like 4+ million Blu-ray players in the US will disappear. Blu-ray is dominating world-wide ...you think that will change drastically? It will be a stalemate and don't believe the spin.

reading all these posts is like watching the Keystone Kops (I'm showing my age here...). Everyone panicking and running around screaming "fire!". I am just gonna do my thing, buy more Blus and let whatever happens, happens...

We just have to hope that Sony has learned a lesson by losing big exclusives on the gaming side and will do whatever it takes to seal the deal.
But this is the INSIDER'S thread, we have a warner discussion thread.
you and other new members dont get it if they go red it will KILL HDM
most will never move up from DVDs then after all who wants to buy 2 players

Exactly, it is like others have said in this thread and others.
There is no "can't we all get along" , there is no future for either side if one side does not end this in the near future.
Customers and retailers are both fed the hell up with the format war crap and will sooner or later write it off and move on and no amount of $10 walmart players with 20 free movies will change that with any long term success.

It has nothing to do with buying 2 players, making a combo player is easy enough on the raw materials end

It has to do with retailers refusing to stock multiple formats. They will annoint a winner when it reaches 1 aisle full

I also include the inferior audio on HD-DVD in my argument that HDM dies as its not really the future but what could have been. But i am an optimist and i can only see Blu Ray winning. I have huge faith in the tech and you don't see the backers and the BDA talking about DDs like you are currently reading over on AVS.

I think that spartan fellow on HDD claimed they leaked the meeting to some others. However he/she claimed that what penton and max said it quite true except for the blu twist (which could mean anything really).

no idea on this individuals reliability as i dont post on HDD.

RDjam obviously reckons the inks drying on the deal (though hes only joined the party after the info was already in the wild, so probaly means he dosent have a clue).

End result.

Nobody seems to know sweet FA other than what the insiders here have said, though the red team say our blu insiders dont know sweet fa either and are adding a blu twist to the sweet fa that they dont actually know about.

think thats got it....

Both sides?...or does just one side of the aisle count? If it's the latter, we're gettin' close in my neck of the woods at Best Buy...

Wow, you’re telling me. First of all I am not going to elaborate on any specific meeting by any specific attendees other than to say that it may boggle the minds of some people here but, not every major Hollywood studio was even open for meetings on Friday, and that includes executive offices.

I received some of the strangest PM’s in my inbox today. A bunch were apparently from new blu-ray.com members that have recently joined up and remember me from AVS but, never got the whole story on my *status* as an “insider” on AVS.

I’ve already commented upon that matter long ago but, for all new members or others that may have forgotten---this is the whole sordid story in a nutshell……………
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...postcount=2123

and the link which I provided (in my reply to Amir) that got me the “suspension” was from this website……………..
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...postcount=2125

I also received a PM asking if I have ever hinted about any yet to be announced Blu-ray titles that would be forthcoming (other than Men in Black).
Somewhat strange request but anyways, yes. I have succeeded in pissing off two different organizations (Happy Madison Productions and Sony/BMG) in the past by revealing the first BD50 title (Click) about 2 months in advance …………….

http://archive2.avsforum.com/avs-vb/...&&#post8183217
sorry, Kris you were two months too late……………
http://archive2.avsforum.com/avs-vb/...&&#post8588599

and then Springsteen’s Live in Dublin, in my own cryptic fashion………….
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...&#post10078614

later verified here and for more clarity and the resulting consequences , scroll down a couple posts………..
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=828896

I’ve probably revealed a couple more yet to be announced titles in the past but, I just don’t recall them off the top of my head. I sort of stopped doing that sort of thing when I posted on our previous Insider’s Thread here that Guns of Navarone got a completely new transfer but, I thought I would make an exception for Christmas with the Men In Black thing at CES.

Anyway, lastly I’ve also received a flood of PM’s concerning recent revelations in behind the scenes discussions of you know what with you know who. I will only add to that topic that such things were anticipated far in advance, so nobody is being caught off-guard here.

You can take my posts from last night however you please, lots of it though is not from any specific meeting, but through lots of hard work and time working with our contacts and being the most informed and up to date we possibly can be.

If you expect everything, you can never be caught off-guard.

Edit: What P-Man just said, beat me to the punch by three minutes...
And for the record ( and no disrespect to them intended ), Spartan is a highschool student with a blogspot blog.
They were the one who supposedly had a source saying that one of the blu studios was going neutral ( I think that was the rumor...it was one of the ones that was talked about in here) back on hdd a little while back.

Like the Arsenal at the beginning of the 2nd half.

And yikes, did the Spurs have a shootout going this weekend.
Now if you guys only had a defense like Blu-ray.

P.S.
Congrats to all Patriots fans.
A truly historical accomplishment (given the parity of the league) last evening.

Can the insiders give any info on the new CEO of Warner. He appeared to be pretty positive about Blu Ray a few years ago.

Whoa whoa whoa, this is the "insiders" thread. so please keep your of...........wait a minute, if the insiders go off topic in the insiders thread....does the internet implode? What will the consequences be!?!?!

Didn't you also mention something about Catherine Zeta-Jones fans being happy as it relates to Zorro in 2007...and whallah "Legend of Zorro" December 11, 2007.

Now, if you really want to impress me, you'll drop a hint about "Mask of Zorro" possibly making it in 2008. Mask of Zorro is the superior movie, though I just watched Legend last night, and paidgeek and his team are to be commended on a job well done.

My guest specifically commented the lifelike, realistic sound of the Dolby True HD (I think the geek said it was 20bit). My favorite soundtracks are those that have clear separation between the score and SFX, w/ layers of detail. Legend has just that. It's almost as though you have an orchestra in a pit playing live along with the sound from the movie onscreen.

Me wants more...

Penton And Maxpower, thank you for the infusion of momentary stability and sanity in this thread.

In you opinions, would the title of this thread ( https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=29019 ) sum up the situation as it is now?
