Good work, Penton and others.

Now...when the dust of all this settles, will you ever reveal your true identity? Or at least your company?

Also, THANKS to David Boulet because it was because of his persistance (and sometimes annoyance, lol) that he kept pushing for us to buy Warner Blus this holiday season. I myself got 6.

Oh, and while we're thanking everyone -- good job SysAdmins who are running the boxes behind this site, and keeping it running smoothly under what must be a sudden inrush of traffic. Other forums are coughing up hairballs even as I type this....

This is also the time to pat ourselves the back. Most of us have bought a lot of BD movies and have never considered buying into HD DVD, even after Paramount's, in retrospect, unwise decision. This persistence of ours and the general good sense of the general consumer has paid off. Blu-ray is just the better format - pure and simple.

Now MS can start battling Apple on digital downloads and keep it's sticky fingers off optical media.

I wonder when we'll see a BD add-on to the 360, though?

This is great news for HDM. Wonderful news infact. I just hope Universal come to their senses soon. Paramount can wait a bit for my money. Congrats everyone for supporting BD over the last years and months. Its paid off.

I think its important that we encourage HD-DVD fans to now accept the decision of WB as being the deciding factor and pick up a BD player and film and not rub it in. Lets be "BIG" about this wonderful decision.

Stunning, brilliant, awesome, fantastic, stupendous, bloody amazingly great news!

This is the end of the format war. Right here. Right now. Mark your calendars. HD DVD goes into meltdown this very night.

To all at the BDA involved in the negotiations and to all insiders who have served this forum beyond the call of duty, this is from all of us to all of you:

Now, go out and celebrate. Or stay at home and watch a Blu-ray. Whatever, I don't care anymore!

And I never doubted Warner would announce today (honest). It just seemed too damn obvious.

Who cares? I actually hope cash did exchange hands. That would be real funny to the red ants for bragging they bought out a studio and then the BDA comes back and does the same thing except on a bigger much more important studio.

Penton, I am ecstatic at the news, but the temptation of Into The Wild and Zodiac: DC is not gonna be something I can overcome. Any possibility there will be some more big announcements very soon that will curb my significant desire to buy those titles?

P-Man, as a 1/4 blood Comanche, I say fine with me.

My turned around day means tht 1:30 Mountain is usually my morning. I woke up to a lot of Blu skies. What a way tostart a day!

Happy V-W day everybody, most especially our venerable hairdresser and janitor insiders. Thanks for the encouragement to buy Warner and everything else that allowed us to feel a part of this.

Now on to V-U day and finally V-P day. So U and P, which one wants to be the last to the party?

Edit: Corrected typo. Told you that 1:30 is my morning.

Chris

I think Mr. Gates is gonna look a bit foolish introducing a new XBOX with HD-DVD at his keynote now!

I want to thank Sony and it's insiders on doing whatever was needed to get this done! Nothing could have been bigger in terms of bringing the format war to an end!

I am now really wondering who needs to color there hair now

Could it be Paramount with an escape clause ? or Universal going neutral to get some double dipping on HDM ?
