Unfortunately, 1st place in the "big tournament" would have been for $15,770 versus $640 for my 1st place in the smaller tournament, but the buy-ins were significantly different ($550 versus $30 ).

Thanks for asking!

I comes home yesterday after a long day in the salt mines expecting to put my feet up and watch the Arsenal match followed by ManU vs. Chelsea and all I get on my DVR are re-runs.

Does anyone know the dates as to when these matches are to be eventually played?...postponed, I assume because of all the snow falling in England?

Nobody (at least from L.A.) really wears a white tux to that particular awards event, except maybe Leon Silverman or one of the other hosts.

The annual retreat out in the dez in the Palm Springs area is even more casual

Additionally, the Hotel/Resort allows owners to bring their dogs.
(for an extra $100 fee, which is about the going rate for such an amenity)

^ Please disregard , I checked my PM box and it's already there...and has been so for the last day or so.

P.S.
Seems I can't spell 'minimum' correctly today.

Hasn't been decided yet. Some time well into the new year, doubtless.

I had a fun Saturday AM watching the ever-hapless Wet Sham eke out a lonely point.

Not I, sir. Afraid I must, instead, inform you that you are now considered overdue at the assisted-living facility. *Ahem*

Before that happens, at the risk of sounding dumb, can I claim that ‘Cobb’ Inception-ed into my brain that idea of you desiring to purchase a GM or Chrysler body?

http://nerdbastards.com/2010/11/30/c...ists-are-dumb/
b.t.w., to all those technologically oriented folks out there, Inception did not receive a D.I., which is why it wasn’t even considered in the HPA category for ‘Outstanding Color Grading Feature Film in a DI process.

sharkshark,

Since your budget is tight these days, if you can’t do it, at least you can watch it at your local Cinema in Feb. -

Yes, and we all know Pfister would've burned his ASC manual and moved to Michigan had any meddling digital devolver dared rape his art with horror 1s and vicious 0s.

Thankfully I'm on vacation the next two weeks so I was able to play in another tournament today...third place ($335), although I should have finished in the top two...had a set of Jacks and a guy rivered a flush on me...grrr...oh well, much better than a min cash.

How does that work out in regards to paying your taxes? Do you have to fill out some form at the venue before you pick up your winnings or are you obliged to report the income with your regular tax filling come next April?

For some folks, the tenacity concerning photochemical finishing has become almost like a religious obsession.

Perhaps during the infancy and development of the digital intermediate workflow in the early days, such caution with regards to the D.I. process and subsequent continued loyality to photochemcial timing had some merit but, not so much these days.

Sorry Shark, I haven’t dove Cozumel since I was in high-school, so any recommendations I could give you would surely be out of date by now.

In the meantime, keep an eye out for more cinematographic skill from the Emmanuel Lubezki/Terrence Malick team for The Tree of Life next year….

Speaking of which, to all those locals who PM’ed me today on the sly, I have no comment at this time regarding the Spider-Man Reboot moving shooting locations from off the Sony lot next week to a local L.A. area high-school while the kids there are on Christmas break.
