I thought it was an excellent commercial. It was nice to see Murray, Tobolowsky, and Doyle-Murray together again.

Pointless to bring "Groundhog Day" back for a minute to sell friggin Jeeps... I hate that kind of crap. I think of "Groundhog Day" as a great piece of art so I just hate to see it used this way.

Yeah, bringing a touch of nostalgia back for a film loved by millions on the day the film represents really sucks.

Yes, it does. It's a totally pointless exploitation of a film classic for the sole reason to make $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Borderline evil but I guess that's just the way I see it!

Sorry, I have a real thing against commercials. Maybe I should chill.

Still, seems doubly strange since I thought Murray had mixed feelings about "Groundhog Day," which caused a serious rift between him and director Ramis. Maybe that's been forgotten.

Wasn't that the whole reason the movie was made and released in the first place?

No. "Groundhog Day" wasn't made to make money for JEEP. It did make a whole bunch of money but it was so much more than that.

That's right, it was made to make money for Sony.

I'm sorry but without Andie MacDowell or Chris Elliot, this commercial can't be considered canon.

Also worth mentioning is that the movie used product placement like virtually all movies do.
