It's not cropped, the frame has just shifted. There's quite a bit more information on the bottom according to the caps, and some cropped off the top. Just different framing.

I'm really debating about importing the JP disc though. I havent ordered from CDJapan is a while, can anyone tell me if they accept PayPal?

Edit: I checked out the site and they do! Good price on this title too.
Good price on the disc, but the shipping is more expensive than the disc, even the cheapest shipping method.

Not to the UK it's not! Boo-yah! £12.42 delivered, which is WELL worth it for one of Murray's classics.

I chose the express shipping method, which is the second most expensive option, and it was cheaper than their list price for the title here to Australia.

I chose the cheapest shipping option and it cost me £10+

Worth it for one of my favourite films.

Depends on where you live. From my own experience SAL shipping usually takes 2-3 weeks to the Netherlands. I occasionally buy action figures and model kits from Japan and have them shipped with SAL, I don't know how much of a difference shipping a Blu-ray with SAL makes.

CDJapan takes about 2-4 weeks in most of the U.S. For me in MS it takes around 3 weeks. It's about the same for amazon.jp and DDDhouse.com.

I generally receive my Amazon.jp orders in 2-3 days. They only offer one shipping option to Australia, which isn't expensive, and send everything via DHL Express. Sometimes they are delayed for a day, as I have everything sent to a P.O. Box. DHL don't directly deliver to P.O. Box address, so they hand them over to the local postal service.

That would make sense since you are much closer to Japan.

Do they send your orders via DHL Express, or another service? If it's the former, 2-4 weeks is a long time IMO.

No, they come in through USPS. I would guess it's DHL to Hawaii and then USPS from there.

The best of course would be the new transfer with English subtitles and all special features. I'm wondering if a US edition is going to be released.

If not we can just do what we did with Ghostbusters. Put the original disc in with the 4K disc in one case.

#1 I'd like to have English subtitles
#2 It would be nice to be able to watch the new transfer with the audio commentary

That hasn't been the case for a while -- it's about 3-5 business days to the USA. It's THAT fast. Comes via DHL, and requires a signature -- just keep that in mind, though the last two times, the DHL guy didn't bother knocking and just left my package at the door.

Amazon JP only offers this one Global Shipping option to the US now and it's also much cheaper than it used to be too. You won't find a better shipping option from Japan in terms of speed and price. I've probably made 3-4 orders over the last 18 months, and they all arrived within 3-5 days once they shipped from Japan. Unless there's a big disparity in pricing on a certain title, there's not much need to order from anyone else if you're in the US.
