Yeah, but first he's annoyed.

Well, the weighting system used by imdb defeats the purpose of the voting and ranking. They have decided that some peoples opinions matter more than others..

Now I really ain't gettin to sleep. Scary Windu!

Just popped in the extras disc for the PT. These animatics are terrible. Although the one Spielberg did was interesting. But I can see what they were doing with the sabres in the 2004 transfer - they were matching them to the sabres in the animatics.

Thank god they trimmed the first Qui Gon/Maul fight. You wouldn't want to add any extra cool stuff into that dismal movie. Or do good edits that make sense. Why is Maul getting off the ground if he didn't fall?

Overall I am overjoyed to get the OT deleted scenes, but overall very disappointed in the extras.

Put on Attack of the Clones. You'll be sleeping in ten minutes. It's better than ambien!

Doof is right. Actually, if you notice when they first meet everyone's beloved JamaicanMeCrazyMon character, Obi-Wan asks: "What's this?" and Qui-Gon responds with "A local". Just in the way he says it, speaks volumes that he's already annoyed.

One thing iv'e noticed. ROTS has aged very well. I think the two previous films gives this one a bad rap.

..just had to throw that out there.

He is supposed to be annoyed... JarJar IS annoying to the characters in the movie at first. But he is also caring, helpful, clumsy, scared, wise, easily annoyed, modest, honest and always hungry. He is a multi-facetted character like Jabba who is... who is fat and evil... Or like Chewbacca who is... loyal and a walking carpet...

I love the OT but JarJar is more complex than most supporting characters in the old movies. He is the comic relief - just like Han Solo in ANH - with a simple character-arc that lets him come through in the end for his friends despite his selfishness or fear.

The hand ful of disappointed "fans" isn't representative at all. The sales-numbers speak for themselves.
There are several major things wrong with the PT:

- bad writing
- bad dialogue
- bad acting (by some...)
- Jar Jar

The main reason Lucas was happy with it is because it made bucket loads of cash that allowed him to continue with another inept movie and a better 3rd one (RTOS)

Sales numbers don't always speak for the quality of movies, sadly. Just look at Transformers 2.

Maybe go in and select subtitle #31, and see if that does it.
But the alien subtitles are part of the English picture/film. With A New Hope the sub titles for Greedo and Jabba were just there, no need to select anything. The subtitle in Attack Of The Clones IS missing/cut.

As seen at the end of the 1990 CBS/FOX Collector's Preview: Source @ YouTube

Oh come on now! You can't be this dense? It's call a marketing gimmick is nothing to do with the fact that he never had plan for more stories

Serioulsy some people defending the prequels take it overboard yes but some of you on the other side are just as ridiculous!

Han Solo is the "comic relief"?

Wow man, just wow. Jar Jar = Han Solo. Never thought I'd see the day.

Okay, okay... The character-balance is more like this:
Anakin = Luke
Obi-Wan = Han Solo
Qui-Gon = Obi-Wan
Padme = Leia
Jar Jar = Chewbacca
Watto = Owen
Maul = Vader
Palpatine = Jan Dodonna

But you must admit Han Solo and his love/hate relationship with Leia and Chewie grunting in the background is the comedic counterbalance to the darker themes in ANH just as JarJars and Wattos back and forth with QuiGon and ObiWans snark comments are the comedic backbone to the darker themes of TPM. You might want to pitch one against the other - I love them both!

Well, he is for the most part, especially in ROTJ. He has most of the best one-liners.
