Didn't Gallandro point out the arch just to the (screen)right of Artoo.

Needless, but as with the Dug, Door, Ewok blink etc changes that don't bother me one way or the other.

I don't understand why people think they'll be another release of these films for home video.

Are people really going to upgrade from Blu Ray? Not only that, it's not like Lucas released the films on DVD twelve times. He released one set, and then basically re-released the exact same movie discs over the following two years in smaller sets. It's not like anything new came with these sets. They were the same.

I don't see Lucas re-releasing Star Wars on Blu Ray multiple times. This is it.

I think it's strange that Empire Magazine reviewed the Blu-ray and never mentioned the no in Jedi. It's also strange how there is no explosion sound at the end of that MP3 when it's synced to the video?

Don't forget the 3D plans over the next several years. Those will almost certainly generate BD releases of the 3D conversions.

Prpblem is Lucas board members so to speak are all sniveling yes men and he wont listen to the public who gave him all his money. Without us he would be nothing. I could live without star wars, but star wars could not live without us, the fans.
Well then, prove it once and for all! You guys keep saying it goes beyond this board, beyond the Internet, that fans of Star Wars are tired and angry. Prove it, make this Blu-ray release the worst selling release in the history of the format. Don't buy it! Show to Lucas that you are tired of the change. It should happen since all of you here claim it goes beyond this site and the Internet, that millions upon millions of fans are tired and care too much about Star Wars for all this crap to continue. If there are so many fans who go nuts over these changes like you all claim here, it should be easy to make this Blu-ray release a disaster in sales and show Lucas how wrong he is. Like Nike used to say "Just do it!"

Don't worry about that, clips of the Blu-ray have surfaced and it syncs up perfectly. Sadly.

Hatemongering and negativity, lol.

Hatemongering-arousing hatred and negativity in others.

Yeah, I really see that going on around here.

Drama queen much?

The 3D releases will be exactly these cuts. Why do double duty when you can kill two birds with one stone?

The BIG YELLOW OPENING CRAWL would disagree with you =P

I'm sick and tired of people telling me I shouldn't get upset about all this. "They're only movies!" Yes, I know. Forgive me for being passionate about something I've loved almost my entire life. When you connect with a movie in such a way, as I'm sure most of us did when we saw Star Wars for the first time, you invariably make it your own. That is to say, you didn't write or direct it, but the relationship you have with it is yours, and it is unique. Sure, George has the right to change whatever he wants, but I also have the right to hate his guts for it, because he's messed with something that is mine.

If you can't understand that, then I'm sorry, but I guess you just don't love these films as much as I do. There, I said it. Now run from my negativity!

PS: cancelled my pre-order. will probably reconsider at later date, but must protest in some way now.

I don't care for this change, but just during that short scene, the video looked great, so I don't think I'll be passing on this release.
I do kind of like that they made Wickett blink once in awhile. Not that that was necessary either, it just makes him seem a little bit less like a kid in a costume.
I don't mind it, but I mean, he is a creature, does he need to blink? Do dogs even blink? I'm not sure I've EVER noticed or cared =P

Well said. It should happen and I hope it does. I myself didn't pre-order (not my habit - didn't pre-order LOTR as well), but I was so eagerly awaiting this release. I was going to use the occasion to upgrade my TV Guess I'll wait for JP...

Finally finished reading all the posts since I left (that was page 1132), took me about 5 hours. We should compile this thread and make a book and send it to George Lucas.

Thanks to Inspector Toschi who reported that the PQ is very good, with fine grain and no DNR. And that's just from compressed 720p rips, at 1080p with blu-ray bitrates it should be much better. That's all I wanna know (this is blu-ray forum after all, where PQ/AQ is where it concerns the most). Eager for professional reviews to confirm this.

Gonna get back to life now, will check with you guys again tomorrow. Behave yourselves please.
