So using irrelevant facts (the smell and feel of a piece of paper) and easily-debatable generalizations (whether or not an electronic device fits in a pocket) makes you exempt from being accused of being argumentative?

Sorry, but no.

They pesented him with the trilogy is how I understood it

Then you have stuff like digital distribution, having access to your whole collection etc. and there are a lot of benefits.
I don't have to charge a paperback book or worry about breaking the screen or deal with dead pixels or spend hundreds of dollars on something that will likely fail within 5 years and be obsolete as soon as I buy it.

A comic can be damaged easier than a piece of glass. Literally every comic I've ever read has some sort of printing error that is comparable to a dead pixel. And even in its obsolete state tablets today are capable of displaying a greater image than any mass-produced comic.

So you got two things left: charging and price. First of all, you're not buying a tablet just got comics. It can do a lot more I suspect most people weighing the pros and cons of digital comics in the first place probably have a tablet already.

So really you have charging. I guarantee you have less access to your physical comics than you do with your occasionally-dead tablet, and scaring up a charger is still easier than lugging your comics around or going home to them.

Plus the charging isn't just a hindrance. At the very least you have self-illuminated reading material which is a substantially-useful feature to any reader.

I've got books that I've had for more than 20 years still is pristine shape. I do not however, have any computer device that old that is still functioning or usable with modern devices.

Does an Atari 2600 count? I have had mine since 1984 and it still works perfectly. It will also work with any HDTV thanks to a small adapter.

My NES and GB still work...
Though, back then Quality was more important than Quantity.

There are very, very different standards in place today.
It's sickening the new mentality...
If it lasts 5 years it's ok....
No!
It should last at least 30!
And the fact that no one is really bothered anymore by this is really weird...

Do you leave your comics behind when you move? No, and obviously your digital comics aren't left behind as you upgrade your device over the years.

Ah the old school comics vs digital argument again.

I was a huge comic book nerd since the late 80's, have a massive collection, and was totally against the digital revolution. I refused to go that route for quite awhile then one day I actually tried it. I've never looked back lol. Digital is sooooo much easier and the benefits far out weigh the negatives

I still have my physical collection that I pull out from time to time when I feel nostalgic, but reading on a tablet is easily my preferred method.

Some people may call this sacrilege. I call it evolving.

I don't mind them being digital. I do have an issue (no pun intended) with the screen size.
I have a 50 inch TV.
I read them on there.
I prefer physical copies, but alas, I'm unable to go every week down to a comic shop, for reasons why some people here know.
And no, I'm not talking about pirated copies either.

Yeah i love my old game systems! Still have the 2600, 5200, 7800, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Playstation 2 and most recent WiiU. My favorite though is my stand up Star Wars arcade game. Wouldn't trade it for the world!

I was just talking to my wife about this last night. I love books, but for convenience, I prefer digital. Problem is the issue of "I want others, especially my kids to experience this" complex that I have. I feel like everything I'm into, they'll love (or I'll make them) I'm a collector (or use to be) but I don't care about monetary value or selling for a profit later in life (I'll regret this I know) so I have no problem letting read my old comics. More than anything I want to share the things I loved growing up with them. That said, I decided to start purchasing comics/books from the Play store with an account that everybody in the family can access. (I wish Google would let us transfer purchases to another account) I really don't have the space to keep "collecting" At the same time, there's nothing like looking on a bookshelf seeing an awesome collection. Well, almost nothing

Star Wars OT mini rant
[Show spoiler]Back on topic, my kids will never watch the newer versions of the OT, which is a shame because my son really likes Rebels & my daughter loves Star War: The Force Unleashed & still plays it & Vader is her favorite character of all time! We were getting into Clone Wars when I got really upset for some reason & made this decision for them not to even get too deep into the rabbit hole. I was watching the trailer for "Ep 7" a couple of weeks ago & he ran over when he heard the music at the end. I felt bad because there is no way I'm gonna let them watch the OT & I'm not even on the side of "Lucus raped my childhood", but other than the special effects, there's just no reason for the changes that he made. I know there are ways to get the original versions, but don't know if I want to go that route, but I've considered it countless times, just so I can introduce the OT to them. I regret buying the complete saga & will echo the hopes of many of fans that Disney will reissue what was originally shown in theaters.

Why don't you try to find the DVD's that had the Unaltered as a Bonus Feature?

The lighting is fine on my Kindle Fire HDX with its 1920x1200 resolution. Physical books have zero backlighting nor internal light of any kind which strains my eyes. Now I rarely read physical books. I cant stand not being able to change font size and line spacing and I prefer to read white words on a black background and no physical book has that. All I have to do to translate a phrase or word or look something up is highlight it whereas with a physical book I have to put the book down and get on the computer which slows down my reading and pulls me out more. I also like that I can read in the dark which means I have a lot more time and opportunities to read. The best part tho is I bought probably 100 books in 2014 and only paid more than $3.99 for maybe 5 of them. Physical book prices would have set me back around $1000-$2000 for those 100 books. And I didnt have to spend gas and money or shipping to get those books. And I can take an entire library of books and magazines and comics with me wherever I go.

Physical books just cant compete imo. There are some stuff I buy in physical form such as nice coffee table books but other than that its digital for everything else.

Sorry, but no.
For some people having the paper in their hands and the smell and all that matters. For others it doesn't. It's not that complicated.

Also most comics online have DRM, which is a huge turn-off.
