Well, you can have it out with Oxford and Webster then. I just wouldn't wouldn't spell those words that way on your resume in the U.S.

Come to Canada, Gold Ranger -- we can be neighbours.

Colour me impressed that you're in favour of the Queen's English.

Ever since I was a kid.
I even, as a kid, argued with my teachers and told them, "Yes, I know the US way of spelling, but it looks stupid and since this is ENGLISH class and NOT American English, I can and will continue to write this way." I never got bad marks from that point on.

Would I have to say "Eh." after everything though?

I agree, and that's where the UOT is going to forever rest. Lucas doesn't want the original cuts out there, and Kennedy knows that. Disney knows that. They're going to respect his wishes. He did his best by making a truce in having Han and Greedo shoot at the same time in the blu-ray release of Episode IV. That's it, final. I love the UOT as much as the next guy, and I encourage anyone else who does to seek out the Despecialized versions.

Of the OT fans out there, its only a minor percentage that fall within the UOT cult. What would Disney have to gain by releasing disc versions for that small, dying breed? You think Disney needs money? They're raking it in with Marvel right now, and with Episode VII about to be the dawn of a new era, they're all about moving forward and leaving their own legacy in the saga.

There's not gonna be a UOT announcement at this year's Celebration. It's just a fool's hope, and over the next couple of decades, it will eventually die out.

Absolutely. The Canadians expect it.

Hey, I don't make the rules.

I would have to insist you reconsider your preference of The Phantom Menace and Return of the Jedi over The Empire Strikes back though.

I just saw the second trailer and the first thing that it says is "Lucas Films". I don't understand, George Lucas is not the director of the new film, (I know he’s the writer of Episode VII) so why still have his name/trademark, as opposed to saying a film by J.J. Abrams? Thanks in advanced.

#1 - Phantom
#2 - Empire/Jedi/Sith (no particular order)
#3 - Clones
#4 - Hope

This is how I rank the movies...

And I grew up with the Original UnAltered Trilogy.
Drive-In (Jedi only)/VHS/TV airings

It is, but the average age range for the UOT fans is probably 30s-50s? At some point they're... well, you know. This public outcry for the UOT retail release is gonna get more and more quiet. People will eventually lose interest, especially once Episodes 7-9 are over and done.

Lucasfilm is the Company which owns the movies.
It didn't say "A George Lucas Production"

Wow, I don't agree with your assessment of anything here.

First of all, Lucas softened on the UOT towards the end, referring to them as the "classic versions" and not the "rough drafts." I seriously doubt at this point he minds if they restore the originals.

Secondly, I'm sure Disney and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has respect for Lucas, but considering they threw out most of his story treatments for the new trilogy, they are still doing things their way.

Finally, the love for the UOT isn't as small as you make it sound. Sure, there's a lot of people who either like the newer versions or don't care, but the restoration of the UOT would be COLOSSAL news for Star Wars fans and just film-fans in general. It will make money, believe me.

There might not be an announcement at this Celebration event. They might be saved for the 40th anniversary or something. But I am very confident they will be coming out in the not-too-releatively-distance future.

Besides, no one is spoiling anything.
And it all comes back to how the movies are released, who owns what and how, and about the UnAltered Trilogy.
It's all cyclical.

Does the Episode 7 Thread have talk about the other 6 movies?
LOL... Told ya...

Are they going to do theatrical screenings for the older movies? I kind of expected them too but haven't heard anything.

What is not to like about the new trailer ??? The ships have physics again, there is no hint of annoying kids, there is a crashed star destroyer, harrison ford, an attractive unknown female lead, fast pacing ...

prediction ... this movie will squash all prior box office records .. and it will not be close.
