George actually praised the wigmaker but putting short hair on long hair (especially when you can see his scalp normally) is always going to look like a birds nest. I only really notice The Phantom Menace's hairpiece, the fake beards pass me by!
The reshoots always took place about a year later. I don't think they could ask him to pass on other projects during that time to make sure his hair remains the same. In the case of TPM, I believe he was working on Eye of the Beholder when the reshoots came around. And his hair was a bit too long for his padawan look. So they strapped on that horrible redish wig over it. In the apology scene to Qui-Gon on Naboo, Ewan also looks bloated and massively hungover.

With AOTC, unfortunately, Ewan took that bit part in Black Hawk Down and so he had to strap on the horrible bell-shaped wig and fake beard. To the poster that said it's a real beard in II and III, it is in III but it's not in II. You can see in some of the interviews he did for the behind-the-scenes stuff on the set of AOTC for the reshoots, he's clean shaven sporting his Black Hawk Down buzz cut.

No, Lucas clearly kept the carbs all for himself!

Cheese is full of carbs and I got plenty of them from Lucas whenever a human spoke in the prequels.

Hey guys! I'm just wondering what blu-ray set of Star Wars to go with. Should I get the newest boxset or the first box set that was released? Thanks!

The 9 discs are identical on both sets. The first release uses paperboard sleeves to hold the discs much like the Indiana Jones and Alien Anthology sets, while the new one uses a 9-disc "brick" case.

George Lucas took my childhood and made it awesome. Anyone care to disagree?

Does anyone know if the new split trilogies are in fact Blu-Ray + DVD for each individual movie? Best Buy's details say that there are only 2 discs in each set and only mentions Blu-ray.

It's six discs: three BDs and three DVDs.

I made her finish it but she wasn't happy. I asked her for a 1-10 rating at the end and she said "3." She couldn't really list reasons, just found it "boring."

Oh well, no movie is for everyone. She's still going to see Force Awakens with me since I lost most of my friends moving across country and going to the movies alone is lame. More importantly she likes the Star Trek movies, and since I am mostly a Trek fan I can't be too upset about her tastes in sci-fi!

Now I have to watch Jedi myself to prepare for TFA!
Unacceptable! You force her to watch Jedi with you, then make her read some of the novels and comics until she finally admits how amazing it all is!

No, not even close. It's 149 USD, but these go down to about 20-30 Euros at times, and that's when I'll bite.
