Unless I missed it when I was watching the last 20 minutes and absolutely no one is talking about it online, GMA did not have any Star Wars announcement.

Edit: N/M it was apparently about the Force For Change Charity. I did miss it.

I finally upgraded my DVDs to this set, purchasing on Amazon from a 3rd party retailer. Received a bootleg BD-R set. I'm going through the returns process now. Dealer seems to be remedying with a refund. I had heard about this on eBay, was surprised to find on Amazon.

One of the many reasons I don't order from 3rd party Amazon sellers.

I got burned a long time ago ordering For Your Eyes Only on DVD from an Amazon retailer, and it was clearly bootlegged from the moment I opened the case. Buyer beware.

I have never got a bootleg from eBay, but they have much stricter selling rules than Amazon.

I don't buy from eBay if the listing uses a stock photo. If it has pics of the actual item and I can see what I'm buying, I'm good.

Yeah, I do that as well. I also take pics of all the items that I am selling.

I got a bootleg twice from e*bay...one was a Sleeping Beauty DVD, the other was the Kostal score for the 1982 version of Fantasia. It happens.

Yeah, I post scans of everything I sell on eBay and have a perfect record, but eBay is getting worse. One clown deleted info on his page and sent me a Canadian BD instead of the US Sony I ordered by UPC (he inserted the US UPC). Went through hell to get that refund - and the evidence was clearly there of fraud. Right now I'm in a fight to get a refund on the SWCS DigiBook I ordered. Listed as Like New (which I NEVER buy (

5/6ths of this disc looks like the surface of the frickin' moon, in braille (3D), no less (just above the black line is the only part that looks like a normal disc). Left out in the sun, sprayed with hair spray, uniformly advancing disc rot?

Like New, my ass. eBay has gotten too big to patrol their site and this crap's on the rise. Just the routine plight of a disc-junkie bargain hunter.

I got a bootleg ST:TNG cube from ebay back in the early days before I knew any better to raise hell, and a bootleg Criterion Hidden Fortress dvd from Amazon around the same time. Last year though Amazon sent me a fake Mario plush via FBA which I caught because I could read the freaking Japanese gibberish on the tag.

tl;dr yeah bootlegs suck.

I'm trying to trouble shoot my copy of New Hope. I bought the prequel and trilogy sets when they came out. The discs are pristine. On my LG E6P OLED using the new Sony X800 Ultra Blu Ray Player I am getting a pixilation during the Death Star battle. Specifically when Luke saves Biggs. All three ships are in the shot, so there is a lot of motion on screen. I have tried to turn off all image processing on the tv and I can't seem to avoid it. But it's not always there either, so I don't think it's likely to be the disc. If I start at the point where the ships take off from Yavin, I will almost always see it. If I start playing at a point closer to where it happens, it's less likely to happen. I played the disc on a smaller tv in the bedroom and it doesn't happen. Anyone else seeing this on a larger tv?

Is this macro blocking due to how the disc was manufactured?

Hey guys,

Incredibly late to the game, but I'm trying to find a copy of the Anakin Complete Saga Digibook (the original release, in other words) but Amazon seems to be a crap shoot as far as it's concerned (the release says Packaging May Vary, and I honestly don't feel up to the constant back and forth between sellers as packages arrive in Vader packaging and then having to send it back, etc.).

Anyone know who's still selling the Anakin set or am I s h i t outta luck and should just try my luck with various sellers?

How likely does everyone think that a 40th anniversary BD set is going to be announced tomorrow at Celebration? To me, it seems pretty likely, as Celebration would be the perfect place to announce something like this. Not long now until we can find out.
