I applaud Touchtone for coming out of the box with both guns blazing.

They seriously have woken up. They could teach Sony and Fox a thing or two.

Treasure Planet? I'm game! Always had a weak spot for that movie.

Nice list. Count me in for Phenomenon, Newsies, & Sister Act. Maybe Home on the Range as well if it's cheap enough.

While Treasure Planet and Home on the Range aren't my first choices for Blu releases, I'm glad that Disney is starting to release DACs in the US in "Catalog" style...

Why on Earth would Disney put out the 2 "classics" that signified the absolute low point of their animation studio? The timing was not exactly a coincidence when it comes to their purchase of Pixar in 2006...

...And they still keep avoiding their best titles :

'Ed Wood'
'25th Hour' (10th Anniversary)
'Grosse Point Blank' (15th anniversary)
'High Fidelity'

They're really good at the anniversaries right now. I'm getting GPB will come sometime this year....or early next.

What gives, Disney? Newsies--really? Newsies before Who Framed Roger Rabbit??

I believe Zemekis is currently working on a BD release of Roger Rabbit.

This is great news for the "black sheep" of Disney animated titles. Maybe we'll get The Black Cauldron on Blu-ray for Halloween! I know they just re-released it on DVD for Halloween a within the last few years.

After having to look up a couple of the films Disney actually IS releasing, that's what I was thinking.

Not that I'm complaining about a wave of catalogue releases, but it seems like they pretty much picked these via throwing darts at a wall. Unfortunately I don't think they hit even one winner (for me anyway) - there was plenty to choose from that I would have wanted alot more (including Who Framed Roger Rabbit, 25th hour, Dick Tracy, What About Bob, etc). Hopefully this is a good sign though and they will follow through with more catalogue releases. Especially of the 80's and 90's Touchstone catalogue that they have been almost completely neglecting.

Hollywood Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, animated films.. Glad the floodgates seem to be opening at Disney.

Guess Lilo & Stitch is likely this year also.

Surprised Sister Act wasn't a double feature.

Hopefully Phenomenon will include the added for TV scenes as extras.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit will come next year for its 25th anniversary (unless they just fudge the year earlier or later as they have been doing). Grosse Pointe Blank seems like a strong reunion anniversary edition possibility later in the year now.

If Home on the Range and Treasure Island are black sheep then what are Song of the South and Captain EO?
