Plenty of time for them to cancel or they could just leave them there until release and say they couldn't get stock, very very unlikely we will see this honored unless it was some kind of crazy promo price.

I suppose there's some loophole in there being a pre-order. If you actually paid or received the goods then it should be honoured. Not 100% sure though.

If the company catches their pricing mistake before shipping as in this case then in the UK they are completely at liberty to cancel your order and allow you to reorder at the new higher price.

What they can't do is what Hive did with The Avengers S4 debacle a few weeks ago, is try and back out after the items had shipped ! You can read more in the thread here and on other forums. Briefly they mispriced by being around 50% of the correct price (£25 not £50) and some of the boxsets shipped before they realised. However they then asked Yodel to pull the customer orders and return item to them when they were already in Yodel's distribution chain rather the deliver to the customer. This is illegal and so for anyone affected who complained they had to resend the item to them at the low price.

Looks like I'll just import the French one

I presume that's the German edition? Strange that they list it as 3D

That's probably what the £50 Amazon listing is, statue plus 3D BD.

If it is then that's fine but I didn't see it listing 3D. It appears to be 2D too.
Says currently unavailable at the moment. Hopefully it will come back with full details, image and price.

Quite disappointed in the statue itself. Thought they would have gone with a more prominent scene from the film. The first 2 statues were brilliant but this is just lacking something. Should have had Azog/Thorin or something but I guess they definitely wanted Bilbo in there somewhere.

I like the statue, it sort of encapsulates the whole trilogy that started with Bilbo and Gandalf talking in the first film and at the end of the last film.

The beginning of a journey and the final conclusion.

I very much doubt the UK will get a 2D only release of The Battle of the Five Armies EE as we never got them for the last two.

What's the chances of this being a 15 in the UK considering the US EE has been given an R Rating. Has it been given a certificate by the BBFC yet?

As for the special features included in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Extended Edition, Warner Bros. offered up a breakdown of the never-before-seen bonuses, which will surely pique the interest of long-time fans of Middle-earth and Tolkien’s seminal series.
  • Commentary with director/producer/writer Peter Jackson and co-producer/writer Philippa Boyens
  • The Appendices – The Appendices Parts XI and XII showcase a chronological history of the filming of The Battle of the Five Armies, documenting the work done on set chronologically through the three shooting blocks and in the world of its digital effects.
  • New Zealand: Home of Middle-earth – Part 3

Strange we didn't get anything about the Dol Guldur shoot in the Appendices on the Smaug EE, hopefully they'll cover it this time, maybe the stuff with Thrain was done in the same shooting block as the big Dol Goldur smackdown seen in Five Armies.
