I know I might be alone on this, but I hope the Doctor Strange we get is like that in New Avengers and not the one we got in Spider-Man the animated series. I know it sounds really corny, but I just really don't like straight fantasy, I like it to have a bit contemporary grounding.

I would LOVE if they would skip origin stories!!!

Just jump into a world where the character already exists. You wanna include a flashback, or a pre-credits recap or something? fine. but enough with origin stories.

p.s. Sean, when did you steal my avatar?!

This story needs an origin. Not an excessive or long origin, but it definitely needs an origin.

I haven't stolen your avatar. I got my avatar from this fan made poster below that I cut in the way, that I chose to and I purposely did not cut it in the same way you made your avatar. That way they would not be the same, considering that your avatar is larger and wider then mine is.

Even though you cut it a different way, it is still the same avatar.

It's the same image but it's cut in a different way. I had cut my avatar differently on purpose, so that my avatar wouldn't match cinemaphile's avatar in the same shape.

Ummm... I was pretty much just joking. So two people have Ultron avatars, so what? Certainly nothing to get defensive about.

Nope, I got it from this fan made poster I found on here, from a website Czech Republic movie website... If I had stolen it, it would still be in the same exact size and shape as cinemaphiles avatar .

If he got the Ultron avatar first, then you have to change it. Besides the fact of disrespectfully copying someone, it's against forum rules. This is just a warning and you have 24 hours to change the avatar.

I for one love origin stories. Especially for a character that hasn't been on screen before. I would think it be essential for him to have an origin story as Dr. Strange is not as well known as some of the other guys and this is from a guy who used to read comics (obv. not Dr.Strange comics though)

Toddly6666, I am not purposely copying cinemaphile's avatar whatsoever, and that is not something I would ever be bothering to do anyway. I just happen to use the same avatar that is a different size and shape then his avatar is.

So now you are making up forum rules & should be suspended for it! Just because it is the same pic but different size makes no difference & is not breaking forum rules.

Enough of this conversation or I will remove all the posts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What ever story they do for the Doctor Strange movie, whether if its an origin story or something else, I have a good feeling that they will not disappoint us with how it turns out. For example: When the first Iron Man movie was going to be released, I wasn't sure how it would turn out and I was doubtful and sure enough it was better then I expected.

Exclusive: Jack Huston Is In The Running To Play DOCTOR STRANGE For Marvel Studios

Before I get started… Yes, I am aware Jon Hamm came out and denied any talks ever happened in regards to DOCTOR STRANGE, and, while he may no longer be the guy for Marvel, I still hold firm in our intel that he was a very serious contender at one point in time, leading the pack, until he wasn’t. However, with all the chasing that’s gone on this year in trying to nail down Marvel Studios’ choice to play the Sorcerer Supreme, I can now throw another name in the ring – Jack Huston. While his reps failed to answer inquiries about any conversations that may have taken place with Marvel, sources confirm to me that Jack Huston is under consideration to take the DOCTOR STRANGE lead and is definitely in the running.

Huston, who made a name for himself on HBO’s BOARDWALK EMPIRE and is set to encounter the reanimated next in PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES, is just the latest name for Kevin Feige to take a look at and marks those Joaquin Phoenix rumors that surfaced prior to this year’s Comic-Con as being far from a certainty. But then again, that’s par for the course when it comes to Marvel’s handling of this particular character and his coming introduction in Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Of all the properties that have been incorporated into Marvel’s big screen model, Doctor Strange is Feige’s baby, and he is handling this project with care to make sure it is about as close to perfect as possible. As a result, him and director Scott Derrickson have been kicking over a lot of rocks, seeing what they may turn up as they look for the ideal candidate.

Huston certainly fits what Marvel typically looks for in their leads – he’s known, but he’s not a star. He’s in the right age range – 31, to be exact – that he can be around the MCU for awhile, and his age won’t really become a factor for the character. Plus, while his star may be on the rise, it’s still in its infant stages, so he fits right into their budgetary approach, which is to typically get people before they’re in demand and then make them hot from their inclusion in the MCU.

Huston is definitely a player right now, and with insiders indicating to me that Marvel is very close to settling on a guy, you can perhaps draw your own conclusions as to what Huston’s late entry into the process may mean. Is he Doctor Strange? Could be. May they still have someone else in mind? Absolutely. But one thing that is a definite – Marvel is definitely taking a good, hard look at Huston for the role.
