Like the way you think. I'm still hopping one day for a Good film version of Ghost Rider.

I think it's still speculation AW will be in the MCU, though it was confirmed his cocoon was in the Collector's credits scenes.

I doubt that will happen. Like the person said, I too agree that properties like Ghost Rider or Punisher and Moon Knight are perfect examples of smaller characters that can become something if they were just given a chance. And Netflix, with 12-13 hours of product, is the perfect way into the Marvel world.

I would love to see this happen and think that it actually will if the first line of shows prove to be something. With the chance that their larger characters like THOR, CAPTAIN AMERICA and IRON MAN will be on some kind of hiatus or killed before eventually being taken over by someone else, Marvel will need all the characters it can get.

None on the casting side, though we have seen his cocoon twice now.

man they should, because the cocoon was dormant in the end of thor credits, and hatched at the end of Guardians. should be obvious enough that he will appear in the marvel universe.

i think the guy who plays jamie lannister would play a good warlock.

That would be great. Now if Quasar could be featured in the MCU that'd be nice. But that's for a Guardians of the Galaxy 2 thread. Could Scarlet Witch have a cameo in Doctor Strange? Cause she's a bit on the Supernatural side with the MCU. No idea which other characters could feature in Doctor Strange, excepting some Ditko/Kirby-style characters.
I'm more familiar with DC Comics, pre-New 52, compared to Marvel though.

I think that they have made a great choice choosing Benedict Cumberbatch. He wasn't someone who I thought that they would choose for the role, but I know that he would be a great choice in the role as Doctor Strange.

Watch Benedict Cumberbatch Hilariously Deflect DOCTOR STRANGE Inquiries Yet Again

It's funny that actors have to pretend they don't know anything, dodge the questions, or just lie and say it isn't happening. The recent questioning from Mo Rocca was funny... BC trying to keep a straight face, "Uh, no. Check your notes."

Wow. Okay. That was very sporting of Benedict. Really. It is very obvious this is something he probably can't or won't talk about, considering how sensitive Marvel is to such issues, but the interviewer kept pushing and pushing. It's so great to see him keeping his composure and tried to explain why he won't answer the question. And probably lucky he had a co-star in the interview. A lesser actor would have handled this so differently.

I'm honestly not humored by it, but I'm impressed how he came up on top.

Anyone else want to punch the interviewer in the face? I found him really irritating.

Agreed. I hadn't watched it last night. Though the article said he dodged the questions "hilariously," it quit being funny when JM said "we have to wait to see what the future holds" and the guy kept at it. Both Cumberbatch and Malkovich handled that very well, working together to keep each other from getting too flustered. I think JM was looking quite agitated and started to say he'd never had an interview [where questioning was so unrelenting (given they really can't say anything?)]

That guy was too busy trying to play his routine, it's not unprofessional if I'm humorous at the same time right?, but failed. Both actors where obviously uncomfortable. I imagine they might have scolded him slightly off-camera.

Benedict Cumberbatch is (Officially) Doctor Strange

http://marvel.com/news/movies/23754/...doctor_strange

Quote:
Benedict Cumberbatch has entered the world of the mystic arts.

The actor will star in Marvel’s “Doctor Strange,” scheduled to hit theaters November 4, 2016. The film, directed by Scott Derrickson with Jon Spaihts writing the screenplay, will follow the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

“Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity,” said Producer Kevin Feige. “In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”

Cumberbatch rose to international prominence with his critically acclaimed turn as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s most famous creation in “Sherlock,” currently preparing its fourth season. The series’ most recent season earned Cumberbatch the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie in 2014, after winning the BAFTA/LA Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year in 2013.

Cumberbatch most recently starred in “The Imitation Game,” playing famed mathematician and logician Alan Turing, and will soon be seen in “The Hobbit: The Army of the Five Armies” as Smaug and the Necromancer. For the role of Smaug, Cumberbatch stepped into the world of motion capture to bring the dragon to life. He will next be seen in Scott Cooper’s film “Black Mass,” the story of Whitey Bulger coming to theaters next September, where he stars opposite Johnny Depp and Joel Edgerton.

The star’s other credits include the Academy Award-winning “12 Years a Slave,” “War Horse,” “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy,” “August: Osage County,” “Star Trek Into Darkness,” “The Fifth Estate,” and “Parade’s End.” Benedict will be returning to the stage this summer in Hamlet at the Barbican with Lyndsey Turner directing. His last stage performance in Danny Boyle’s Frankenstein opposite Jonny Lee Miller awarded him the Olivier.

With “Doctor Strange,” Cumberbatch is just the latest actor to join the bold Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, introducing new heroes and continuing the adventures of fan favorites across multiple films.
