Looks like the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man was just a little taste of what's to come.

I have one word: chills.

I am absolutely confident we are in for something truly special. Relative to every Marvel movie that's come before, this is an entirely different beast. After this extended trailer, I'm confident in my optimistic suspicion: the trailers we've seen are watered down and entirely accessible. The visuals I saw tonight where psychedelic, bizarre, and out-there. There is a sequence of different realities Strange visits with The Ancient One narrating. I couldn't even begin to try to pay attention to what was being said, the visuals were overwhelming in the best possible way. Much like the legendary Gene Colan's visuals overwhelmed in Doctor Strange's fantastic books, so too did these visuals assault. With IMAX, it's a sight to behold.

I'm even willing to say I liked the 3D. I write this as someone who definitely does not like 3D.

I saw a bit more of these Inception scenes, and Inception has nothing on this. Even if these sequences can be directly attributed to that movie, this takes it to another level.

I didn't think it was possible, but I am even more excited for this film.

If you know and care about the source material, I think you're in for a real treat.
If you appreciate great visuals of a "stranger" variety, I think you're in for a treat.
One thing is for sure; this film will be different.

And to top it all off, IMAX gave us all free passes for the movie

I always figured that would be the case, there's no way Marvel would just do a few bendy buildings and call it a day, that was just for starters until they get to the really out there shit.

And if you don't like 3D but do for this, then that bodes well. I quite like 3D personally and love IMAX, so I can't wait to see this there, I'll probably go at least twice, if not more depending on if I can make time for it. Pretty sweet that you got free tickets for the full film as well.

The special effects look INCREDIBLE, that's for sure. Even the 3D looks worth it. People right now are saying Doctor Strange looks like Inception-lite, but pretty soon, it's gonna be the other way around. There are a lot of insane, vibrant, mind-bending images that they have yet to show in the trailers.

Not sure yet though about the story and the chemistry between the characters—something that the Guardians of the Galaxy preview reassured. Apart from the scenes between Cumberbatch and Swinton, the rest feel... a little flat.

But, visually, Doctor Strange definitely looks spectacular and seems poised to give Rogue One a run for its money in that category come awards season.

P.S. We weren't given free passes to see the movie. What the heck?

I watched the sneak peak last night as well.

Yeah, this blows the one scene in Inception out of the water. The extra bits they showed for the sneak peak where really cool.

If this movie doesn't open big on first weekend I think there is going to be awesome word of mouth. The effects are so insane at times. All I'll say is Hands! You know what I mean hahaha.

EDIT: WTF, I didn't get free passes to the movie at my screening.... they just gave us our posters on the way out and there was a girl writing down reactions from people leaving the theater.

Same here. Everyone left and they didn't give out tickets and the one guy who was part of corporate I guess wasn't writing down anything.

That's annoying. When I saw Civil War at the same theater, the manager came in to talk to everyone before the movie started and was basically complaining about how it's the largest screen in the state but the show wasn't sold out and how that's such a shame, but they always put tickets on sale weeks after other places put theirs up, getting free swag from them at first screenings is about 50/50, and then they do stuff like this where if others are getting passes, they won't give them out. Oh well, the screen is massive and the sound is incredible so I kinda have to go there for the big movies anyway. Costs $15 (or $18 with the online fees), but it's well worth it.

The trippy psychedelic kaleidoscopic stuff we're seeing is the one thing that's kind of turning me off at this point

There was no promise of free tickets to the full movie for this screening. The sneak preview included a collectable poster and that was all that was promised. Now, if a particular theater chose to capitalize on the excitement and hand free tickets to the full movie, that was their choice.

I know Regal posted on Twitter that a lucky fan could win tickets to opening weekend in IMAX. Unfortunately, the only true and full IMAX theater closest to me that I enoyed the preview in, was not doing that promotion.

It is also the same theater that I had to fight with the manager to get my free Guardians of the Galaxy poster for going to the first IMAX screening on opening night.

As for the preview, wooo. I figured it was going to be a slightly edited scene like GOTG's 15min preview. It was exciting to see a long scene and multiple additional tastes of others. I also caught that some of it takes place
[Show spoiler]slightly before Iron Man 2 with the mention in the car of the soldier who had a crushed spine from experimental armor
