Great news for me in more ways than one. I own all of the comics books form the original Dr. Strange series...and they are in mint condition...all of them would get a CGC grade of 9.6 and above (for those that know or care) Anyways, bring on the movie.

This one (like Thor) is one of those character concepts they will need to NAIL on the first try or this movie could go terribly wrong.

Dr Strange is one of my favorite Marvel characters. He is really underrated.. he is a total badass and really interesting. Get a director with some imagination and this could be top notch.

Neil Gaiman Clarifies the Guillermo del Toro and Dr. Strange Rumors

Quote:
"I would love to write Dr. Strange. It would be absolutely one of my dream jobs [to write] a Dr. Strange movie," Gaiman begins. He recalls a story where he visited the set of Hellboy II and talked with Guillermo about Dr. Strange. Apparently Gaiman has been "in very, very early sort of 'I would to do this' talks with Marvel" and that Guillermo's reaction was "Neil, I want to direct it!" With Gaiman and del Toro on board, obviously, Marvel became quite excited, too. But as we all know, Guillermo took on the monumental task of directing The Hobbit. "Anyway, the point is we're probably, we may be four years away from Guillermo being free to do it, and I'm not entirely sure I'd want to do it without him. So we'll see."

That explanation doesn't exactly debunk any rumors, either from Feige or del Toro. In fact, it sort of supports Feige's claim that we might see Dr. Strange by 2012 or 2013. Maybe they can convince del Toro to direct Dr. Strange after finishes The Hobbit and one of his other projects in development. If that were the case, it sounds like it would be something we'd see by 2013, since The Hobbit is supposed to be finished by 2011. Either way, don't hold your breath, this could all change at the drop of a dime, and considering this is Hollywood, it probably already has. I guess I'm just so excited at the prospect of seeing a Dr. Strange movie made by Neil Gaiman and Guillermo del Toro that I'm hoping all this turns out to be true.

Del Toro would be a perfect fit for Dr Strange.

I was wondering when they were going to say they are making a Dr.Strange movie. I really liked the animated movie that came out about a year ago.

Dr. Strange is on of my favorite characters and I would love for del Toro to direct this movie. But, after The Hobbit he better direct At The Mouth Of Madness first. Do you know how long I've been waiting for a quality H.P. Lovecraft movie?

Dear Holy Lord. A movie written by Gaiman and directed by Del Toro would transcend the comics book genre.

Arrow Fun rumor about DR STRANGE

Okay, it's not news by any stretch.

Dr Strange is among the movies planned for Marvel's second wave (all of which have not been named as of yet).

So here goes (from /film):

Quote:
/Film reader Jon B brought it to my attention that George Clooney was spotted pre-holidays in Hollywood having a business meeting with director Ridley Scott, and Marvel Studios chairman David Maisel (Paris Hilton was also in attendance, but gossip mags have recently linked the heiress and Clooney, so that’s more likely personal than professional).

Marvel Studios has said that they are interesting in bringing a Dr. Strange movie to the big screen. Clooney looks a bit Strange, doesn’t he? Or might Ridley Scott might direct The Avengers movie? Or perhaps it was just a fun meeting between friends. We know this whole discussion is circumstantial and speculative at best, but in the boring days of early January, I find it a little fun to speculate. So lets pretend for just a minute that there is something more to this dinner meeting.

Discuss: What do you think of the idea of a Dr Strange movie starring George Clooney directed by Ridley Scott?

Would Ridley Scott really direct a B-comic book character? I’d much rather see him involved in The Avengers. Clooney would be uncanny as Strange. Or what about the possibility of Clooney playing Captain America and Scott directing Avengers?

Clooney could dod Strange, but he's too old to play Cap. Rogers would have been in his mid to late 20's when he hit the water.. Clooney is pushing 50 as it is.

Maybe Dr. Strange is a b-character to some, but I like him a lot more than some of the more popular ones. This would be a great movie if they do it right. I love Captain America too, but Clooney is too old for the part. Man I hope they do a better job than on the Matt Salinger Cap movie.

The Red Skull an Italian? Bleh.

i thought clooney was fantastic as batman/bruce wayne. it wasn't clooney that was messed up. it was the stuff he was given to work with. i really think he could do batman justice if he was given the right material. none of that nipple crap. i could certainly see him in the dark knight returns possibly. he definitely has bruce wayne down. look at the ocean's movies.

Clooney was an awful Bruce Wayne. At the Time, he was quoted in a magazine article whining about the Batman suit and how hot it was and how heavy it was. It was a bad part for him. That was just a bad Batman movie all around. I don't think he would be good in ANY super-hero part
