Great argument that Toyota and Honda want the uninformed to trot out. Allow me to enlighten you the the real truth.......While it is true that factory workers building foreign cars here make money. The bulk of the funds "your money" goes back to Japan.

Where was your PS3 made and where does the bulk of the funds go?
How about your Sharp Aquos?
Your Onkyo 805 (Great receiver, I have the same )

Where is your home PC made, all it's parts?
Your clothes?

If you find that any of parts of any of those are made outside the U.S. you better return them ASAP!

What's wrong with free will?

Are you racist?

What are you thoughts on free trade?

Would you prefer to live in a bubble and not exchange items with somebody in the next state, next city, next block, next tipee? (ok, I don't need the answer to this one, LOL)
thats not what hes saying.

clothes, electronics, etc. manufacturing have not been a product of the American economy for a long, long time.

car manufacturing has been. the big 3 are in big trouble, they are losing money hand over fist and if they go bankrupt and the govt. doesn't bail them out. a lot of people are going to lose their jobs and guess what, that effects the entire american economy.

now it would be one thing if they were making nothing but crap up in michigan, but they aren't. honda and toyota are huge parts of the auto industry and actually spurred ford, gm and chrysler into improving their quality greatly over the past decade. competition is a very good thing. the problem is, is when dipsh1ts think that a honda today is $5, gets 90,000 mpg and will run for the rest of your life and fords are pricey, have horible mpg and break down. THATS SIIMPLY IS NOT TRUE. THERE IS JUST AS MUCH VALUE IN AMERICAN MADE CARS TODAY, IF NOT MORE, THAN THERE IS IN FOREIGN MADE CARS!

competion from foreign companies is good
american made products are good
free market and free trade is good
uninformed trolls and consumers are bad

This seems to be the main problem...... we recall something we think we seem to recall and now this is my position on this issue. Do a little research into things before spreading your false propaganda. Dont you think there might have been an adgenda they were trying to push in that article......Picking out one vehicles parts content then comparing that to a plant opening in ohio. THE MONEY GOES BACK TO JAPAN......END OF STORY.

i do disagree with his aggressiveness towards trying to get people into buying american, but hes pretty spot on with everything else he is saying.

if american car manufacturers are putting out equal or better quality products out into a free market at competitive prices, the only reason people should not be buying them equal with foreign cars is due to misinformation, which i believe is a principal part to the failing us auto industry.

for some reason, people don't understand and see the value in ford, gm and chrysler/dodge. they think because they had a junky ford in the 80s, then they will have a juny ford in 08. its that type of ridiculous logic that will run this country straight into the ground.

maybe you like this one??
http://www.businessweek.com/magazine...7/b3971057.htm

here's a breakdown for you it basically says that while domestic car companies are closing their plants in america, foreign car companies are opening plants here. and the first link i posted talked about the parts coming from america. so you're saying that our money is going to japan for buying a toyota camary yet more money is leaving america for buying a ford mustang.

sounds like you need to do some research too.
