I sold all 3 of them, the last one about a week ago. I plan on getting a Corvette ZR1 when I can pay a "normal" price.

If I may ask, why did you sell them all? Did you just get tired of them, or was it something else?

Well, I hate to say this, as much as I love Vettes, but it's still GM. My 2007 C6Z for an 80K car, was always in the shop for cosmetic repairs. Even though it's only cosmetic, it was still very annoying. Alot of the problem comes from the GM dealerships themselves that seem to struggle to fix issues and usually need multiple attempts.

I have been looking at a 997 twin turbo which is not as fast as the Z, but sure seems to be built better. I sold all the vettes and my 2007 F-250 diesel and purchased a 2008 Chev Colorado which I drove for a month and then dumped that for a 2008 Toyota Tundra Limited. I also bought a 2008 Buick Enclave as a family ride a few weeks ago and plan on looking at the 997, Corvette ZR1 and Viper for next summer leaning toward the ZR1 even though it's still GM quality.

It's my other addiction next to Blu-ray.

Nice! You change cars like some people change underwear. Hey, if you can do it, then go for it. Also, since you're into power/performance, then you may want to check out the Challenger SRT8 or the Viper. OR better yet, give the Nissan GT-R a look. That car is a monster as well.

I've sure never seen a stock one for 80k, more around the 50k mark. I've got a friend that paid 80k for a super snake and it's worth it.

I guess it all just depends where your desires lie. I don't think I'd look at an 80k Mustang unless all I wanted to do was go in a straight line. Way too many cars in that price range with better capabilities.

According to Road and Track, the GTR still beat the Super Snake in the quarter mile, anyway.
11.8 for GT-R.

12.5 for Super Snake.

I'd question their driver. 12.5?? That is terrible for that car. I have run faster in mine with less power and barely less weight.

11.58 from MM&FF:

That article is for the KR. The Super Snake is a different car. Based on specs, it should actually be even faster than that.

I'd question it to, I run a a 10.5 @ 136 with 632hp, the super snake has 750hp. Guess they can't drive. I do run M/T Drag radials or I get wheel spin through 5th gear.

Good call. I just snagged that one after about 30 seconds of searching the MM&FF site.

Default Dodge EV seen in the flesh at LA Auto Show

http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/21/d...-la-auto-show/

Based on a lightweight aluminumchassis developed by legendary sports and race-car constructor Lotus, the Dodge EV is a highly energy-efficient, all-electric "plug-in" vehicle. It is also a real sports car for the hardcore set, with mid-mounted batteries and electric motor creating a near-50/50 weight balance and a low center of gravity.

Acceleration and range are impressive. Thanks to a 200-kw (268 hp) electric motor that produces 480 lb.-ft. of torque, the EV rockets from 0–60 mph in less than 5.0 seconds, runs the quarter-mile in under 13.0 seconds, and has a top speed of over 120 mph. And, thanks to its lithium-ion batteries and regenerative braking, Dodge claims a true driving range of over 150 miles, making the rear-wheel-drive EV an electric car that everybody can live with in the real world.

But will the Dodge EV see the production light of day? It looks likely, perhaps as early as 2010. Pricing has yet to be determined, but it is this sort of cutting-edge technology doesn't come cheap (nor does the lightweight Lotus chassis that the EV is based on). But with mass-production of lithium-ion batteries ramping up around 2013, the price will likely come down quite a bit, making cars such as the Dodge EV more of a practical reality.

yes please. looks like tesla is gonna have some competition real fast

YUM

Quote:
Audi always seems to have something great in store for us at the Detroit Auto Show every year, and in addition to the Sportback Concept, the long-awaited R8 V10 5.2 FSI made its official world debut at this year's show. With the 5.2L V10 plucked from the Gallardo LP560-4 mounted amidships, the new R8 now packs 525 horsepower and 391 lb-ft torque. Exterior styling has been subtly updated and includes all-LED headlights, wide side sills, revised matte aluminum exhaust tips, and new 19-inch 10-spoke wheels. More details on Audi's new flagship are in the press release after the jump as well as a video of the car's debut here in Motown.

LMAO - I just realized I've posted in this thread four different times in the span of 14 months. Maybe they've all been merged. I hope so.
