Which is especially suitable for high data rates…up to 250 MB/s for everything (except 3D 2K HFR, that maxing out to an allowable 500 MB/s) . Roughly the compression ratio with JPEG 2000 compression is ~ 10 to 20/1 for uncompressed (digital negative) 2K content.

Then you went ‘silent’ on April 1st.

Good to see you’re alright . b.t.w., you now owe me a free dinner as restitution for the grey hairs you gave me with that failed tomfoolery.
Yeah, It wasn't my greatest move lol. Couldn't believe the irony of the power cut though. I would have came clean waaaaaay sooner otherwise.

Thanks for your concern. I will be rooting for gunners even more now for you and Tob! (Brownie points)

I now fear someone might declare all large screen TV sets and projectors obsolete NEXT April 1st. I would then be joining you in the 'few more grey hairs' department. I will be on my guard.

To call it square, I still want a free meal if I ever get up to the N.E. of your island. Regarding the gunners, despite the big lead at the beginning of the season, Everton is creeping up on us. This weekend’s match could turn out to be crucial for sealing a Champion League spot. I do miss the glory days of the past when we had players like Henri who now hangs out in Bev Hills…http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...ses-stars.html

Anyway, today 4K film-related news with 70 days to go - http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/News/Pr...03E/index.html

Anyone here have 4K TV and some 4K movies? I hear the improvements is like going from VHS to blue ray than DVD to blue ray.

Anyone know when 4K video cameras and 4 still cameras are coming out?

Anyone tried to play video game in 4K?

Sorry, but that’s an exaggeration. Although…you could approach such a comparative increase in picture quality if, along with 4K resolution, WCG, HFR and HDR (https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...rm#post8637283) were implemented.

P.S.
b.t.w., it's not necessary to add the ‘e’ - https://www.blu-ray.com/info/

So when will TV makers start to implement it?

I have a 4K tv, but only 4K mastered blus have I used yet.
4K video cameras has been around for a while now.. There's even 8K availbile I believe.
With resolutions these days.. most still cameras can produce a 4k sized image.
I haven't tried it yet, but I'm going to try and upscale infamous and see how that looks.

From that article: "Around the world, viewers will also be able to enjoy the 4K/60P promotional trailers for the Official 4K Film on 4K-compatible BRAVIA™ TVs at Sony showrooms and retail outlets including Sony Stores."

60p 4K footage? Now that I'd like to see.

To add to ^…there are even 4K camcorders now on the market for well-heeled consumers…. http://store.sony.com/4k-handycam-ca...ced-Camcorders

or, as a lesser-featured more compact alternative…’4K for 2K’ ($2,000)…. http://store.sony.com/4k-camcorder-w...ced-Camcorders

On the high-end pro side, there are rumors of an Arri 6K camera with a gigantic 65mm sensor already shooting feature… http://nofilmschool.com/2014/03/arri...camera-4k-nab/

Interesting reporting by THR….http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/beh...details-693288 < so, who be those ‘select FIFA rights-holder broadcasters’ yet to be named in days to come? For passionate football UK-ers, BT Media and Broadcast -> BT Sport ??

Heh. The AX100 doesn't have the XLR audio inputs, XQD card slot or the big-ass lens of the AX1, but one respect it's FAR better: it's got a 1" sensor vs the AX1's piddly 1/2.3".

Well I dislike making such crystal ball forecasts and I prefer to defer that sort of thing to the real experts who get paid for that skill…

But, if pressed for an answer, I would reluctantly *guess* that a 5 year mark be do-able for all those listed 4K augmentations except for adding on HFR (content and displays which can accept a native 4K 120Hz(etc.) signal and show that 120 content without any processing such as interframe creation).
