Theoretically, a true 10 bit display like many current HDR sets should have a lot less banding than an 8 bit one. But like I said before, certain sources and circumstances can still cause banding. |

Even 1080p would be a bump over the very common 720p. Throw in hdr and we've got a nice treat. Also, they say the goal for some is 1080pHDR with 60FPS with three current infrastructure in place. Last edited by ray0414; 02-23-2017 at 04:50 PM. |

For that matter, even the not so cute (by most human perspectives) marine iguanas on Fernandina in the Galapagos Islands….
![]() ….long before their trials and tribulations became better known to the masses through the tremendous storytelling of the Planet Earth II series. ![]() Me holding a thankful (surviving a shark encounter) marine iguana during my time on a diving expedition thru the Galapagos Islands waaay back in the day (e.g. original Oceanic Products aluminum housings for underwater work) as captured on Kodachrome film by a colleague from a dusted off archive motion picture just recently shown during a nostalgia night projecting celluloid experiences with friends…. ![]() P.S. The hoodie look above is because I was trying to warm up on a windy day after having just finished a long dive….although the islands are near the equator, the water is fairly cold and we didn’t have the luxury of dry suits back then. I’ve enjoyed his tweets for quite awhile because I feel they serve as a good reminder to folks that there are other, more important things going on in the world that they should be aware of and perhaps become actively involved in to protect our hard fought for rights and liberties, rather than casually living in a continuous state of complacency. If you scan his twitter feed, he’s also a fan of history, for which I should send him this video before I forget because with the exception of black boards, I already see history repeating itself…. Watch out Charles! If in the future you’re considering a university appointment somewhere….. next Professors could be labeled by a modern day authoritarian regime to be as dangerous as the free press. |

Colorfront had a demo for HDR10PLUS at the HPA Tech Retreat though I haven't been able to find any articles about it.

For those SoCal locals who couldn’t get to the HPA Tech Retreat and in particular would have enjoyed the presentation by Jean-Philippe (http://www.hollywoodprofessionalasso...page_id=154155), here's an upcoming freebie at the Egyptian Theatre on Monday the 27th…..https://www.eventbrite.com/e/laser-p...ts-32053754643
