I think one problem with this disc at least when watched on a 4K non-HDR set is whites/brightness is too high or crushed, and has a bit low level contrast.
Using the personalpicture setting on the Samsung UBD K-8500 decreasing brightness around 2 and 5 points (depending on the settings on your T.V.) and increasing contrast the same way helps Oblivion UHD Blu ray to look way better than without any tweaking. Give it a try. |

I wouldn't call it rubbish. The BD might be sharper, but I don't find the UHD to be a slouch either. The sound is amazing and the HDR and colors really are beautiful. If I had to chose between watching this version or the BD, I chose the UHD, softer or not.

I would like someone that has bought the UK version to confirm me if it has Greek subtitles.Because in Amazon UK website they say it has while the box says it doesn't.
Can someone check in the UHD menu if it indeed has or not? Thanks |

Okay, so the UK release of Oblivion definitely has non-SDH English subs. With regards to Greek subtitles, it has what it calls 'Modern Greek'.
As for the actual film presentation, I'm not sure yet. I'll tell you one thing it's not... 'Filmic'. Whoever said that, is talking nonsense. It looks as smooth as a baby's posterior, but then so does the BD. Did the BD have a sharpening pass? Who knows. Dat colour and lighting, though... Well...it's the first time i see a blu ray disk or DVD to have "Modern" Greek.Probably it's just a typo because i don't think they would add ancient Greek for subs! ![]() ![]() Am i right that the box is not mentioning Greek at all? If it's not too much trouble would you be able to take a screenshot of the subtitles menu and from the movie with the subs to see if they are good? |

Thank you so much for your trouble! I really appreciate your effort. Yes the subs are good.I am looking at the UHD disk and not the blu ray disk, right?
I see there are other subs in the menu that are not written on the box like Turkish. It's strange that they left out these subs from the box. |
