This is back in stock on Gruv as part of the 2 for 22 for anyone waiting for a restock (like me).

Gruv is an official Universal Pictures distributor of some kind, and yes they ship quickly. Last time I ordered, they shipped in a fairly standard padded envelope.

https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?a=1&x...8&l=0&i=2&go=1 Yep. I'm resisting the double dip on this one despite the cheap prices. |

Tom's face looks so much more natural on the bd cap 8. And unless there's a Mandela effect goin' on, I too remember this having a cooler color palate theatrically (than those 4k caps), so whether it's sharpening or not, bd cap 3 looks better to me.

I know credibility is shot the moment any of us say we remember what a movie looked like in the theaters, but I will die on the hill that they went way too warm and candied with the WCG on this disc. It actually offends me more than the gross noise reduction because it simply doesn’t look like the movie was designed to look.

Just watched for the first time and it was on blu-ray. I enjoyed it enough to look into purchasing the 4K but after seeing screencaps on capsaholic, I’m not convinced the 4K is worth the upgrade. The blu-ray is definitely sharper and the HDR will likely be put to minimal use as most of the movie is greys and whites. I don’t have an Atmos setup so that doesn’t matter to me right now. Hopefully Universal will re-release it now that they have much more experience with 4K transfers. That said, their transfer of Blues Brothers is just gorgeous!

![]() Wrong, wrong, wrong. It's softer than the BD, yeah, but it's not that much of a problem in motion and the HDR grade here is LOVELY. |

HDR is not dependent on colour, yeah, and this brings back a lot of highlight information. But this grade makes it a lot more colourful anyway.
PS Never, ever use capsaholic to determine how the colour and range looks on an HDR movie. Black levels and spatial detail are the only things that can be inferred with any reasonable level of certainty. |

Thank you Mierzwiak and Geoff D for your input. Good to know HDR is not dependent on color and brings back a lot of highlight information, which makes perfect sense since a 4K disc holds so much more data than a Blu-ray disc. Thanks too for the heads up on keeping a balanced view of what’s put on capsaholic. I’m new to the 4K game and am learning as I go along and just want the best experience from watching my movies. Even if you had a chuckle at my expense, I’m glad you feel passionate enough about the subject to educate me a bit, and perhaps enjoyed Oblivion as much as I did.

Obviously for me I'm down with the HDR and WCG being too positive to care about queries about theatrical colours and a little less 'sharpness' and I don't mind cranking sharpness on my TV because my viewing distance doesn't show glaring drawbacks from such a tweak. In fact most times my sharpness setting is higher than most videophiles might sign off on. I'll demo some scenes for 'accuracy' to early impressions but ultimately I watch how I get the most enjoyment. |
