If it is only a 1-Disc release, which releases abroad would be the best ones to import? I wish I got the paramount release a while back when it was cheap to save myself the confusion lol -.-

I saw a Gladiator re-issue today and it was 2 discs. It looks just like the other Paramount titles WB is releasing, same artwork front and back (including the Sapphire Series banner on front), just a new UPC box. All the features are the same as the old discs. Here's a pic I took with my crappy camera on my phone, showing the new barcode and features. It also says 2-disc set near the bottom right just like the old ones.
Nothing to worry about here, I haven't seen a Braveheart re-issue yet but would think it's the same as this.

Yeah, but no slipcover.

Anyone notice that the Amazon page that is linked for the 1/1/2013 re-issue says that it's a 4-disc set?

Of course not. It's in the $7.88 dump bin at Wal-Mart.

DVD and digital copy added maybe? Nothing else makes sense. Maybe more expensive combo packs are coming along with dump bin re-issues?

Amazon flubbed the listing. That makes the most sense.

I really wish Amazon would not combine reviews for items just because the listing title is similar. They have reviews for the 2-disc DVD and the VHS mixed in with the blu-ray reviews.

I was at Best Buy last Friday and saw a copy of Gladiator. I picked it up to check whether it was from Paramount or Warner. I thought it felt lighter than a 2 disc set should, but I failed to actually check if it was. I also saw on this website that the Warner release is listed as only being a single disc.

I'm glad bigdaddyhorse has confirmed it as a 2 disc set. I just assumed it wasn't. I would expect the same is true for Braveheart then.

It's the eco-case making it feel light, guaranteed. I thought this was single too until I saw the features on back. Even then I wondered if a new compressed disc was made, but then saw the 2-disc set marked on the bottom back.

I always assumed that the inventory of the first broken-flaming-arrow disaster pressing would weasel its way back into retail.

I don't think it's that old, I would hope they recycled those returned discs. Since they offered the exchange, they knew there was a problem. These are probably the fixed ones that would have the yellow barcode if still under Paramount covers. I hope I'm right, but won't worry since I sent my bad one in for the good long ago.

If you ever have the time, there are a few wondrous pages in this thread. it was a landmark for me. Heated and I mean heated debates (mods weren't as tough or they were just as heated.)

All in all this thread will always mean a lot to me. And I know that sounds odd saying this about a thread. DNR, call paramount and demand a recall...it was something else.

I think I read a few of those while trying to decide if sending it in was worth the bother after hearing of the exchange program. I did some web research and am almost certain it brought me here. I recall angry words, pictures with circles drawn around missing arrows, people calling other people out of name, dogs laying with cats... I might go back and check that if I get some spare time.

Saw an in-between copy of Braveheart today. It was the old cover with the WB sticker over the barcode and it felt light, but is the 2-disc set like the old ones. I would assume when the old covers run out they will keep using the same disc masters and all will have both discs and eco cases.

So the new reissue that is on Amazon for 10.99 is the regular cut and extended cut? Also does it have the better video quality?

Yes, all the Warner releases are the remastered version.

So a friend just bought the 10.99 amazon release of this. What she got was the old paramount packaging with a big sticker barcode covering the old paramount barcode. It's underneath the shrink wrap so there's no way to tell if the code under the sticker code is yellow and the packaging says 2 disc set in the bottom corner...

what's the best way to proceed here? Did warner repackage old non remastered versions of the movie too?
