I’m somewhat busy with the renovation of some parts of my house.

A "plea" in French for the integration of Dolby AC-4 decoding into Dolby Atmos AVR:
https://www.homecinema-fr.com/forum/...tml#p180628164

Dolby Atmos (via Dolby AC-4) & current Dolby Atmos AVRs

Dolby Atmos (via Dolby AC-4) & next-gen Dolby Atmos AVRs

Are Universal and Fox still mastering all their movies at 1000 nits?

nice sound ^ . On that note, a nice mix article about the CrystalLED lab on the Netflix campus and the collaboration involved, 'Cinema Meets the Home in New Reference-Quality Studio' - https://issuu.com/futurepublishing/d...WY0ODMxMDczNTA

b.t.w., another meaningful collaboration that you may not have heard about, as the scan can be daunting to the young –

As long as you’re safe and healthy, I’m happy . "Renovation of some parts of my house" sounds like quite an involving project whether you’re a do-it-yourselfer or choosing and supervising a contractor. On a far humbler note at home, I’ve recently upgraded the contest prize for Waboman with a teaser pic – https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...s#post18798191

afaik, that remains the general practice with them. High nits monitors like the XM-310K – https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...i#post18617373
are in boutique use and the difficult to acquire, limited supply Dolby Pulsars aren’t for sale, only leased. Heck, even colorist Shane at Dolby uses an FSI XM-310K:

My neighbor was considering the purchase of an OLED, specifically the 83” Sony A90J, no matter what the price, until he red this and the following post - https://www.avsforum.com/threads/bes...#post-60627673

You watch a lot of sports on TV with a static score or text crawl at the bottom, no?

I used to appreciate the lower nit container when I had the 940C, since I didn't have to worry about clipping. But with the Z8H I find myself seeking out Warner or Sony titles that have higher nit HDR highlights so I can enjoy the display's higher brightness capability. I hope they start mastering at 4000 nits in the near future as displays are getting brighter every year.

I agree and to your sentiment, this presentation titled ‘Beyond 1000 nits: The Benefits of Higher Luminance HDR Displays’ is relevant with linkage here -> https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...e#post18682469 and may still be available with a simple registration for access and no fee involved for those who didn't sign up for the live mixer.

^ It adds scientific credence to the superior picture quality provided by even higher nit monitors as was shown to attendees during this past demo - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...n#post16674000

Bob, content is king and although not in HDR, this is a very worthwhile watch. Ernest Hemingway was a complicated man - https://www.pbs.org/kenburns/hemingway/
Scottish, ^ contains lots of old photos and references to Paris, France.
