That's the "official" version of the one I posted on the last page. Their best trailer yet.
Also, I asked one of the devs on Twitter about the US "situation". Last year, Warner handled US distribution and instead of the game releasing on Tuesday, they shipped them on Tuesday. Even for Amazon, they didn't have any in stock until the next week if I remember right. So every day I was calling every retail store within 20 or 30 miles and Thursday night I found 1 Gamestop that had 1 PS3 copy left. Held it for me and I picked it up. But this year, THQ is handling distribution. So maybe in the US we'll actually see it on shelves Tuesday, and not the next week. |

The thing is about this "series", is that if they are going to expand, there needs to be a middle ground. Because the number of hardcore sim racers buying it will ALWAYS outnumber any casual buyers. So before you try to make it "newbie" friendly, you have to make sure you aren't royally pissing off your inherit customer base. Also, I think it is pretty "newb" friendly. Put the assists on, turn the AI on easy, and you're good. I think the aspect they really want to refer to is the pretty large difference in how F1 cars handle compared to any other car in any other game. Driving an F1 car around Silverstone is nowhere close to nascar, dirt 3, taking a Lambo around in GT5, or even Forza 4. If you're unfamiliar with F1 car handling, it will be a shock. But that's the nature of it, and can't really be changed. The only possible solution I could see is to leave the game untouched as is, with career, co-op, online, etc. but add one extra mode next to grand prix/time trial that would essentially be for newbs, and altered for them. Honestly though, maybe this is me being condescending or something, but I don't think they can sell many games to new casual buyers nor should they waste dev time making something that a very small number of people will buy. Of course, it's easy for me to say this, because this type of clientele they say CM should expand to doesn't exist in the US ![]() Edit: and won't exist in the US until at least after the USGP next year. That would be a good window to sell more copies stateside. |

These guys need to get their game out at the start of the season and use updates to change developments like driver changes or a track change/date change.
Seriously, I just don't understand how releasing a game 60% of the way through the season is the smart move here. You can do amazing things with DLC, just look at the Fury expansion pack for WipEoutHD. They should have foregone 2011 and just worked on 2012 to be released in March 2012. That said I'm still champing at the bit to buy this freaking game, lol, but I'm a sucker for F1. Just got three polo shirts for work from the UKF1 store on sale for @ $30/ea. The white F1 (https://f1store.formula1.com/stores/...aspx?pid=47466) and white Sauber polo shirts look really nice. On sale because they're old. |

![]() Also, they said that the safety car will deploy from the pits, let backmarkers by and pick up leader, and be out for a lap. I guess that'll work. I kinda wish it would be variable from 1-3 laps (more than 3 would be too many), but it's better than nothing! |

Screens look good, starting to really get amped. We're in September now! 2.5 weeks...ish. Also, I saw some hilarious twitter ideas for trophies/achievements. "Absolute Friggin' Joke" - Finish a race under Steward's review as Lewis Hamilton "The Young and di Resta-less" Lose your front wing while racing as Paul di Resta "On your Marks, get set..." - Lose more than 5 places on the opening lap of a race while racing as Mark Webber. "The Bernd Maylander Experience" - Spend more than 20 laps behind the Safety Car in a full distance race "Checo Me Out!" - Finish a full distance race in the points after taking only a single pit stop. "Finger Lickin' Good!" Get Pole, Fastest Lap and win a Race driving as Sebastien Vettel. "Alon-So Close and Yet So Far..." Take the lead of a race on Lap 1 but finish more than a minute behind the winner. "Insomnia" Watch the replay of the Valencia Grand Prix without falling asleep ![]() |

X360a has the achievement list out, I assume it's official now and that the PS3 trophies will be the same, but with a plat. Overall, the list looks much more doable. No rank 50 online and no expert trophy (says hard or expert).
Of course, I'm going to be even more pissed if I plat this one, because that would make me 3/4 on codie racing plats. F1 2010 is just such crap to plat. I tried expert, couldn't do it, tried it with some glitches, still couldn't do it. Never bothered with rank 50 if I couldn't beat it on expert. ![]() http://www.xbox360achievements.org/g.../achievements/ Btw, looks like the list is the same as the one I posted a month ago. Two more weeks ![]() |
