Is this game worth it? I was going to pick it up like 2 months ago but I forgot.. How are the effects? when I think of codemasters I think of arcade gameplay.

Far from arcade gameplay. It's a sim, and one review actually criticized F1 2011 of being too "unfriendly" for newbies. If by effects, you mean physics, they're pretty solid for F1, a lot better in 2011. Don't buy 2010 unless you want it cheap, wait a couple weeks.

hmm I'd have to check reviews.. it's been a long while since I played any F1 game Good thing I held out since I had no clue the new version was coming out.

I'm probably gunna have to wait an extra week before I can pick this up. Funds just aren't stretching far enough with all these releases coming.

Yeah I hear ya. Luckily for me, this is the only new game I want for another month, so it's more feasible. I'm just praying that THQ doesn't screw with the shipping like WB did last year. The fact that is has had a bit more advertisement as a September 20th release in the US gives me hope.

That sucked about the problems with distribution last year, I ordered mine from shopto.net here in the UK, I think our release date was a few days after yours but shopto always manage to get deliveries her a day or two early.

I could pick it up this month technicly, but it would mean missing out on an OOP Blu-ray that I've wanted for a few years

It's the first time I've seen it come up on eBay. And I need to import the Disney WoW Calibration Tool. Thts all thats holding me back.

God help me when late Oct and november roll around...

Dev Diary 4 & Launch Trailer tomorrow

I've been doing a bunch of arcade racing games lately, I need to put F1 2010 back in so I can get back into a groove.

I actually traded in F1 2010 along with a few other games towards the Star Wars Saga so I have no F1 until I pick up 2011

I kept it because I wanted to plat it (didn't happen) and I'm OCD and want to have access to every track. 2011 won't have Bahrain or Hockenheim

And I have every Codemasters racing game that has a trophy system. Don't have the first Dirt, but admittedly, I do want to play Grid sometime.

I was two trophies away from a Plat! Completing it on the hardest dificulty and reaching lvl 50(?)

But I couldnt do the 1st one so didn't try grinding to get to lvl 50

I think I got to 35-40 though, so wasnt that far away.

For the most part, same here. I still need a third season win, schumi's 40 wins from pole and all 7 seasons, but those are easy. I gave up when I couldn't to it on the hardest difficulty as well. And I was 35 when I stopped. I'm surprised I got that high, to be honest.

Big day for the game. First, review embargo was lifted. Very positive; the average is probably 8.5-9, the low that I've seen being an 8 and the high a 92. This thread on the community forums has a ton of them linked:
