Default F1 2013 Announced Teaser Trailer and Gameplay Videos

Codemasters has officially announced F1 2013 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Featuring all the cars, circuits and star drivers from the 2013 season, the game will be available worldwide this autumn in two editions: F1 2013 and F1 2013: Classic Edition.

The racing title will feature a new gameplay mode called F1 Classics, in which players race classic cars on iconic circuits against legendary drivers.

Quote:

F1 Classics, introduced by legendary broadcaster Murray Walker, allows players to race iconic 1980s cars from Williams, Lotus and Ferrari against drivers including Mario Andretti, Nigel Mansell, Emerson Fittipaldi and Gerhard Berger, with more to be announced, on classic circuits Brands Hatch and Jerez. Classic content is also available in a range of other game modes, including split-screen and online multiplayer modes.

The premium F1 2013: Classic Edition delivers even more classic content with two additional content packs featuring content from the 1990s and additional circuits to be enjoyed in F1 Classics and other game modes. The 1990s pack includes classic cars from both Williams and Ferrari and drivers such as David Coulthard, Jacques Villeneuve, Eddie Irvine and Alain Prost and others. The two packs included in F1 2013: CLASSIC Edition will also be available as optional DLC for players of F1 2013 shortly after release.
Over the weekend, F1 series creative director Steve Hood appeared to rule out a Wii U version of F1 2013, claiming "it'd have to be a very different game just to run" on Nintendo's console. He also said a Vita version "just doesn't make financial sense".

Here's a teaser trailer for the game and the first two F1 2013 gameplay videos, featuring hot laps of Nurburg and Silverstone

Codemasters has given a date to its forthcoming F1 tie-in, with the 2013 instalment of its officially licensed series landing in stores on October 4th - just prior to this season's Korean Grand Prix.

F1 2013's the first of Codemasters' games to introduce classic cars into the mix, with a selection of 80s and 90s vehicles to tinker with. They'll be split between two editions, with a Classic version of F1 2013 coming with a premium price and the full selection of cars, while the standard edition will have a slightly smaller classic garage. There's still no word on how much of a premium that will be, though online retailers suggest it could be as much as £10 more.

Will the introduction of classics be enough to freshen up the series? I played a bit of F1 2013 a while ago, and it's certainly a step in the right direction.

F1 2013's coming out on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, and even though that's mere weeks before the release of the Xbox One and potentially the PlayStation 4 there's no next generation models planned. They're due to come next year, when a set of new rules is looking to give the sport a fresh lick of paint.

I won't be fooled so easily this year (see my complaints from last year HERE. Will wait to see what the community has to say on this game before buying. Shame they're leaving Young Driver Test in, need to give that a big old "Press X to skip all this useless stuff"

Current gen consoles only?

I would have pre-ordered a PS4 and F1 2013 classic right away if a next-gen version was coming out.

Is the classic edition coming to North America on consoles? I can't find a pre-order for it anywhere.

I looked into it a couple weeks ago. Devs said it was not, but it did pop up on Wal-Mart.com (though you can't order it)

They said that WB (North America publisher) wasn't supporting the Classic Edition though. And to top it off, the additional content that is in that edition, supposedly, will not be available at launch unless you get it digitally (PC and PSN digital versions are classic). They are royally screwing over the physical copy buyers by not making it available day 1, and I presume that they will even charge $10 each for the content, making it $5 more than had the Classic edition been available on a disc.

This could all change of course, but knowing Codemasters track record, I would be shocked if it did.

Well that sucks.

I really do hate day one DLC or in this case premade future DLC.
