Are you asking if the red/blue style glasses will work on side by side 3D? If so, no they won't.
In the words of Inigo Montoya, that word, I do not think it means what you think it means...
"Anaglyph", as you hear it mentioned around these parts, refers to those old red/blue color glasses from the 90's, and good danged riddance.

If you were looking for the word meaning "Passive" = "Cheap plastic polarized theater glasses", you MIGHT have a set that can convert Side-By-Side clips into the set's chosen 3DTV format...Check your instruction manual.
If so, and you have a smart YouTube connection that can search SBS clips onscreen, then, yes, if you dig up a SBS clip and your set can convert, it should be able to display them in a manner the glasses are accustomed to.

Yes, that's what I said and then said those would not work on side by side.

Sorry if I have confused you guys:

Basically:
There r two types of 3d movies arent they? side by side and the blurry ones. If i get a movie that is side-by-side in 3d, is it possible to change the 3d mode on that movie to blurry?

so can any 3d film be shown in side-by-side and blurry?

There are several types of formats that render 3D. 1080P High resolution for each eye, - 3D authored on Blu-ray discs use "frame-packing" (see the [PDF] of Stereoscopic 3D Video in the Home - SpectraCal or via Quick View ).

Default Why hasn't Hollywood figured it out?

Why is Hollywood pushing 3D so much? Disney finally figured it out by cancelling its re-release of Little Mermaid on 3D. Haven't they figured out that 3D is purely a gimmick that "almost" no one likes. I haven't posted on this forum in a really long time; but I couldnt help myself with this little rant.

No one wants to wear glasses!
No one wants to get dizzy!
No one wants aching eyes!

The only reason people buy 3D TV's is because it happens to be included in the TV they want. I bet if you put identical TV's in 3D and non 3D on the market and charged a little less for the other identical TV, practically no one would pay for it, hence the low penetration rate of 3D blurays.

Sorry for my rant, but thanks for reading. Go ahead and bash for those few who enjoy 3D.

Who gets dizzy from watching 3D movies? I have never heard of that happening before. 3D is not a gimmick, it has gotten to a point now for me that I love watching 3D in the theatre. Almost everyone I know feels the same way and loves to watch 3D movies, I don't know what your talking about.

Y'know, if you're trying to go for "logical" arguments, try and keep the personal "betting" out of it. We've got state laws against that.

Nicely put! I like to laugh.

I think my 3D glasses are in the closet next to my yo-yo and pogs. Little Mermaid cancelled? Damn... I was looking forward to that. Disney does a great job with its converted cartoons. We still get the HD, don't we?

I too purchased a new TV just for 3D. I love 3D. I just read an article that said 3D TV's are now in 21% of American homes. And its projected that number is going to drastically increase this next year. 3D is going to become a standard feature in TV's, so its not going anywhere. Have you seen the 3D line up? There are lots of 3D movies still coming in 2013 and in 2014. And all 3 new Star Wars movies are going to be shot in 3D as well. That will take you through 2021. Its a proven fact that people do not like change. They didn't like adopting to HDTV, they didn't like adopting to Blu-Ray, they even didn't like adopting to DVD from ancient VHS.

If you get headache's or some other kind of sickness when watching 3D that's one thing, but the majority of people just bash it because its something new. (I count it as new because it is so far beyond the 3D you used to watch with red and blue glasses.) And if you are getting some kind of sickness with current 3D there is a glasses-free 3D that is just around the corner.

So 3D bashers please just shut up already. Every 3D movie that I can think of is also available to purchase and see in 2D. And its cheaper. So go see those versions and just shut up and let us that love 3D enjoy our awesome movies in peace.

It's actually been mentioned and confirmed by others in this forum.. I have a couple of friends (both have sight issues) that do actually get headaches whenever we go see 3d films in theatre.... That aside, I agree, now it's definitely less of a gimmick than before. I was actually thinking about that while I was watching Friday The 13th Part 3 earlier today, back then 3d was a true gimmick, let's throw a random yo-yo in the movie, stuff like that, but now, 3d is actually used as an immersive experience.

First of all to you OP selfish 3D haters like you only speak for yourself, you certainly don't speak for me or the rest of us who love and support 3D. Nobody forced me to buy a 3D TV and the glasses don't bother me nor give me headaches at all. for one I bought one cause I love and support 3D, and being a huge movie buff whether the movie is done in 4k, digital, IMAX or 3D I love watching all movies the way they were really intended to be seen unlike most. with over about 14 Blu-Ray 3D movies so far I don't plan on stopping at all, so all of these 3D haters can kiss my you know what.

As for the Little Mermaid in 3D being canceled this really disappoints me, I would have gladly payed to see this in 3D. I hope if Jurassic Park in 3D is successful this will make Disney reconsider this decision. And Beauty In The Beast in 3D would have done well I think if it wasn't already on Blu-Ray 3D at the time.

I have never had one of those listed "problems" from watching a 3D movie.... If you do not like 3D movies great but there is no need to start a thread about it in the 3D section of the site..... You are just trolling the 3D lovers and trying to start trouble.... I love 3D and there is nothing you can do or say to sway me to the dark side.

I do love pointless sweeping statements. I bought a 3D TV because i wanted a 3D TV. I don't get dizzy, i don't get aching eyes and i don't mind wearing the glasses.

It is possible the OP is jealous, maybe he cant afford a new 3d tv and has become bitter over it. If he cant have 3d at home.. no one can!!
