I wonder how much of a lead he will have on that? He might have to go CGI if the studios and producers come down hard on him...

Overall I am not too worried because I love the style of direction he as, so I am sure I will enjoy this movie as well.

You might consider joining our Lord of the Rings group on this forum. We started reading LoTR last week.

You are doing "the right thing"; no way you can go wrong. I imagine we will eventually also read the Hobbit.

When will you make your group read The Silmarillion or Unfinished Tales

I imagine we will also do that in the future. We just started LoTR, Hobbit will most likely be next. The idea is to take it slow and enjoy it. In this case, the journey IS the destination. We would enjoy having you in the group, if you are interested. The more, the merrier. Link: https://forum.blu-ray.com/group.php?groupid=71

Agreed. With the importance of these films, the production team involved, and virtually guaranteed success at the box office, I'm confident every aspect of them will be top-notch.

This isn't 1985. Blockbusters don't go for a retro-special-effects look just becuase a bunch of people don't understand what CGI is.

I would imagine that last photo to be Bag End, although the tree, which is certainly "the Party Tree" of LoTR fame, is located higher on the property than is traditionally depicted. If so, immediately below Bag End should be Bagshot Row, future residence of Sam Gamgee and the Gaffer (No. 3 Bagshot Row), and the notorious Daddy Twofoot (No. 2).

Does anybody know if they are building this set on the exact same spot as the LotRs movies, or is it being built at another location?
