that was amazing...love the look of the Goblin in that quick fight scene, sort of reminded me of a Sam Raimi monster creation.

Yeah I thought the exact same thing when I watched it!

Yeah, that was definitely typical trailer music. I kinda wish they'd gotten some more Howard Shore music for this one, but it still worked well.

Trailer looks fantastic - quite different from LotR, which is actually nice I think.

Not down with the comic Gollum talking to himself.

I'm inclined to hold judgement on that one until I see the scene in the film. The general movie going public loved the funny "Smeagol" side of Gollum in the trilogy, so I'm not surprised they highlight that in the trailer. Now, if he's not scary at all in the whole scene, then it's a problem. But I don't think that'll be the case.

I do love Freeman's "fair enough" line, though.

One thing is for sure, this movie is going to be a hell of a lot more funnier than the LotRs films.

I also love how the One Ring while tumbling over in mid air fades into the 'O' on the title of 'The Hobbit'.

FINALLY!

It appears that they finally got the look of glowing Sting right.

I NEVER liked the way it glowed in the LotRs films.

That looks much much better now by a long shot. X1000

[Show spoiler]Not sure. In the book Gandalf slays the Goblin King with Glamdring and you can plainly see him standing right there. Plus he doesn't look "goblin-ish". Maybe it's the skin color? But I could be wrong.

[Show spoiler]Look at what its wearing atop it's head. And it is too small to be a troll. Plus Jackson has been know to take outrageous liberties with this universe.

I hope that I am wrong as his demise by Glamdring is much better.

Not sure how valid this is, and it appears to be before they split the film into 3, but its listed as 3hr 15 mins here:

http://www.wildaboutmovies.com/image...terJackson.php

I find that to be excessive. I think even with the expanded material each film should be kept to about 2hr 30mins.

I will be psyched with anything over 2hrs. 30 mins. Cant wait to find out the final runtime. 3hr. 15 min would be ridiculously awesome but I really doubt that is gonna happen

So a week or so ago I said I'd take some pics of the 2013 Tolkien Calendar. Well here they are, fresh from my shaky DroidX camera... they're a bit big so I'm just tossing a link to a shared dropdbox location. I'll see if I can't find time to resize them to a managable level (and rotate the images) and re-upload them so they can just be embedded into the post and spoiler tagged.

Anyway here is the 2013 Tolkien Calendar
