Question

Does anyone know where to download a 48fps of the new trailer? I was able to download a 48fps of the first trailer, but would love to see how the new trailer looks at 48fps.

Just wondering...

Thanks,

Someone ramped up the 24fps trailer to to 48fps. Its artificial and not what it would actually look like but its somewhat close.

It's a pretty nice set - bit different than I was originally imaging though.

I took a few photos last night, if you're curious before you order. I had a hard time finding any solid images/info about the set before I received it as a gift.

Trailer looks awsome. Can't wait to see the movie, been waiting for it for years.

One thing that bugs me though, is it me or does the goblins seen in the trailer doesn't look at all like the goblins seen in FOTR (moria part) ? The goblins in FOTR looked more orchish.

There are different clans of ors/goblins...bigger/smaller etc....and then there are the Uruk-Hai.

I believe the orcs in the mountain pass are of a smaller variety.

See the link below... Please let me know if the link actually works or not.

http://www.mediafire.com/?xno65kbgrz0bw1k

This is the 48fps of the first trailer that I have, can anyone confirm whether it's fake or not? If it is fake, then that's a pretty good conversion in my opinion.

I was hoping it wasn't fake, and that the second trailer would also be available at 48fps.

Thanks,

Yep and I would suppose it is possible for the goblins to lose all color in their skin since they avoid sunlight whenever possible.

Just noticed that the last line that Gandalf says in the trailer is from the first line from the song that Pippin sings in ROTK. "Home is behind, the world is ahead"...

Thank you very much for posting that Velmeran.

Those maps are a little too much for my taste, as I much prefer the minimal color styles of Middle-Earth that I am more familiar with.

BTW, I found this map of Beleriand vs Middle-Earth that someone put together, and am very surprised by how much larger Beleriand is than the LotRs Middle-Earth.

Is this pretty accurate or way off?

Wont happen. Avatar 2 is set to open in December 2014. I dont care how big the Hobbits popularity is. They are not going to trade a summer july release for death by Cameron In December. Plus WB needs a tentpole for July and theyve also said Jackson wanted to reduce the amount of time between parts 2&3.

Head back to few pages to post 3981 to see 4 "alternate" endings to the trailer.

While I like John Howe's maps in that set, I too prefer seeing ones that are a bit more inline (color wise) with Tolkien's original maps.

Since today is "Hobbit Day", I've went and started taking (or re-taking in some cases) some shots of various Hobbit books I've collected over the years, figured I'd share some here:
- The Art of the Hobbit:
- The Hobbit: 3D Pop-up Book
- The Hobbit: An Illustrated Edition (One of my favorite books in my collection, illustrated with images from the 1977 Film/Cartoon)
- The Hobbit: Pocket Edition

That is a great painting, almost abstract.

IMO the best atlas and a nice companion for The Hobbit, Silmarillion, and LotR. I still always use it when reading the books.

I purchased that book a few months ago. It contains all of Tolkien's artwork for The Hobbit and is of very high quality. I am surprised that some of the drawings/paintings were never published prior to release of that book.

I heard a theory that he's miniaturized himself to fit on that sled.
