Doug Adams (heavily involved in the music for LOTR and The Hobbit) has announced that the soundtrack for Desolation of Smaug will be released on vinyl. I don't personally have a turntable setup at the moment but I still will most likely buy it for the improved cover art and for when I do eventually get a turntable.

Awesome poster, just wish they didn't tack on the sword on the right. It doesn't fit with the rest of the design. Same with the characters on the bottom.

This was bugging me to. His eyes look so different from the way they did in lotr. They seem to be doing a poor job with keeping the looks of the characters consistent from the previous trilogy. This looks just as bad as what they did to Ian Holm. That wig looked NOTHING like the one he wore in Fellowship. I know people say they did it to make Orlando look younger, but I don't find that it does. Besides your eyes simply don't change colors like that.

His eyes are creepy as hell.

I am not really looking forward to seeing him in these upcoming films.

I know I'm stretching it here, but the way I look at it, Legolas looks different in LOTR because he's traveled across the whole of Middle-Earth, and looks rather ragged and not Elf-Like while not in his homeland. While in Mirkwood, and being years before the events of LOTR, he retains his Elvish look and I think he looks similar to how Elves looked in Lorien in FOTR. His look isn't bugging me as much as others I guess.

I just like consistency. As far as him looking more ragged in LOTR, I am going to have to disagree. I think he looked a lot better in LOTR. Not to mention at the beginning of Fellowship he was in Rivendell and hadn't been away from his home that long.

Saw Doug tweet about this today, can't wait to add it to the special edition of the first film. Think I might even pick up the vinyl LP of the soundtrack too.
