Same here. Paper products, meats, frozen foods, dry foods, canned foods, breads, cereals, washing detergent, dish soaps (all soaps for that matter), cleaning products, etc. are basically all wiped clean from the grocery stores.

Went out this afternoon to have a few pints with my mates. Tavern - packed!

Went out to dinner with the family tonight. Restaurant - packed!

People are going to go out. Just not to work. Lol.

Still can't find any toilet paper.

This whole thing would never have happened if the Chinese government had cracked down on the wet markets that sell all kinds of exotic animals.
Unless of course believes the conspiracy theories that the virus was deliberately engineered.

Hoboken, NJ Mayor Ravinder S. Bhalla on Saturday announced a citywide curfew to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, one of the first such curfews ordered in the United States since the outbreak began.

The curfew will be in effect nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Monday. During that time, all residents will be required to stay in their homes except for emergencies and required work.

Additionally, bars and restaurants will no longer be allowed to serve food within their establishments, and bars that only serve alcohol will have to shut down entirely. Food service will be limited to takeout and delivery only.

Bhalla said in a statement on Twitter that keeping residents off the streets and out of bars overnight would free up emergency workers already stretched thin by the public health crisis.

“I completely recognize that these measures will result in substantial changes and inconveniences to our daily lives,” Bhalla said. “However, these measures are being taken to save lives and protect our residents.”

The extraordinary moves came just days after officials reported the first confirmed case of coronavirus in the city of 55,000. Statewide, New Jersey has reported 69 confirmed cases of coronavirus and one death.

I do wonder if we are going to see some good online sales within the next month or 2. I could see business being really slow and these companies basically wanting people to continue to spend money.

Honestly when we get to level 3 (we are currently level 2 in the bay area) and I have to sterilize my packages I'm probably not going to buy much without a heavy incentive.

The people who couldn't get toilet paper needs comforting too, and churches provide that zone of comfort...so many would go.

Best to wash our hands, stay home, watch movies (Avengers, Joker, Hollywood, etc.) on Blu 4K HDR, and keep scores of the next wave ... tomorrow morning. Today is Sunday*

* March 15th marks the first starting day of the tenth year war beginning in Syria, which is Coronavirus-free, among Libya and Yemen.

I work in warehousing and can't wait til the hype is over and the stores we service decide to send back the trailerloads of TP and water they've been special ordering. It may be a hot seller now but when these paranoid nutcases realize the world isn't ending they will be lining up to try to return the endless supply of toilet paper they hoarded.

IMO . . . not going to happen. It's only going to get worse not better for the next 3 to 6 months. Long enough for the hoarders to run out.

The more cases that pop up, the more restrictions people are going to have to live with. If any hot spots show up those restrictions could be very drastic. Containment is the primary goal today.

He can still turn it around, but he doesn't seem to acknowledge that what he's done is wrong. "Public service" is the biggest self-reach-around form of self-delusion I've heard in quite some time.
