I thought this was an interesting article that tries to explain HDR in its various forms in laymen terms. Check it out.......

@DanBa, enjoyed dinner with Toshi-san last night after his seminar. Here's my video of yesterday's HPA session with Toshi's presentation starting at around the 8 minute 27 second mark.

This is one of my favorite HPA sessions.

Prior to Toshi (of Sony) was Annie (formerly of Disney).

Robert you rock to have taken the time and effort to document. Wish you’d been there back in the day and captured some of thee old softball games that were played at the retreat when the knees were good.

ah, I watched that video from you late last night before hitting the sack and typed that post above before seeing your post. Sorry, for the redundancy , again, good job with the coverage for those of us who couldn't be there. Much better than random pics.

Thanks, I have a ton of video all taken on my iPhone. I'm putting it up raw as I have no time for editing and I only posted a couple of my favorites sessions on Blu-ray.com.

I'll be putting up a lot more on my secret Youtube page.

^ Nice job kurtis21 . Note to Kris D. : remembering that you’re from the Northwest, as a thank you, in return I’ll offer back a pearl of wisdom (because at the end of the day, rich or poor, toys or not, nothing is more important than one’s health). God forbid you, or friends or your family (e.g. parents, grandparents ever encounter age related macular edema, younger folks dealing with a retinal detachment, traumatic or otherwise) and ever need a superb and caring ophthalmologist specializing in the retina, but if you ever do, I can recommend without reservation Lisa, formerly of USC, where among other things, she was a primary investigator in the clinical trials for what the public knows as 'the bionic eye' ….
https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/l...262645641.html , or more properly named, the Argus II retinal prosthetic device.

And is now practicing in your neck of the woods – https://ophthalmology.washington.edu...-de-koo-md-mba

You never know when you might need a good doctor fast….and differentiating between doctors can be more daunting for laymen than differentiating between AV bloggers accurately (or not) writing about HDR and such on the internet.

Note To Steed, since you appreciated the exclusive (revealed nowhere else on social media) info on 02-06-2019 about the latest upcoming (and now in progrees) carrier shoot for Top Gun: Maverick as documented above here, and only here on Blu-ray.com, in case you didn’t recognize it when posted - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...y#post16080858

that ^ structure is the backside of this - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...m#post15650436

which has since been demoed and was located within miles of the Roosevelt. I won’t say whether there will, or will not, be a volleyball scene in TG: M, for as Jennifer says…”maybe”.

Hmm, the crew has been kinda encouraged by the officer in charge not to take photos of anything/anyone related to the production while onboard, so I suspect somebody on land snapped that pic. Anyway, as far as the type of filming location goes, see above posts - starting with 02-06-2019 hint , I figure you to be 8 days behind, but that’s not bad as social media and local news coverage confirming my previous exclusive heads-up to the Lemoore location - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...e#post15446571

which took about 26 days for the 1st news service to catch on/confirm -
https://www.sfgate.com/movies/articl...e-13239763.php

But you nailed it as far the fighter jet, as I purposely left out where F-14A Bureau Number 159631 – https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...o#post16070738 was due to make an appearance next, figuring that might give away too much of the plot.

There is another location shoot for Top Gun: Maverick baking in the oven - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...n#post15897776 which I’m hoping comes to fruition pending certain stuff.

LordoftheRings, don’t feel badly about late with the news as despite not being privy to Insider information, you are a strong contributor to this thread and to put things in perspective beyond discussing Top Gun: Maverick -

I would bet big money a lot of the attendees at the 2019 HPA Tech Retreat had never before heard of GANs until this week; whereas, dedicated readers of Blu-ray.com like PaulGo, yourself, et al. had already been so enlightened 1 year earlier…..https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...s#post16080402
