Bah. I'd still have given it up for the three points against WBA on Saturday.

Still, that's the PERFECT draw now we've got it. Lower league opposition away from home is absolutely ideal given how shocking our home form is, couldn't have asked for a better draw.

Steed: it'd blow a hole in my finances just to get up to London to see a league game, never mind a semi or the final at Wemberley. Last Palace game I saw was the 1-0 win over Chelsea almost 2 years ago.

Had the Chelsea game booked flight flying over Friday back Sunday but them beating city means the game has been moved. Got the flights cheap enough but the gamble didn't pay off.

I hope at some point in the near future the Premier League get with the times and offer a streaming service. Things like the WWE Network or NFL are fantastic value for money for the consumer and the prices clearly work for the owners too and if they can get away with having all the content online to be streamed live the same time as it is on TV, why cant the Premier League?

Yeah, it'd be great to have some kind of streaming 'season ticket'. Although given how much pain and torture Palace dish out (almost) every week I'm not sure my blood pressure could cope.

But given there's still that covenant on broadcasting fußball in this country where from 2:45pm to 5:15pm you can't show any live action on TV on a Saturday afternoon (FA Cup aside, although even that was pushed back to an evening slot anyway) then something would have to change to allow such a thing to happen. I know streaming isn't TV ( ) but I still think that the broadcasting restriction would be a problem, even if indirectly.

(IIRC the authorities in Spain recently changed the kick off times for evening La Liga games to to 5:15 or later on Saturdays so that it wouldn't clash with the above UK time restrictions, and we no longer have people watching the game on a bloody tablet for 15 minutes telling us what's going on before the live coverage kicks in!!)

These things won't remain mate. Streaming services are the new cable. Expect expensive packages in a few short years.

Hmmm. The cup games against Saints and Stoke were also wins, however they're not propelling us up the league table given our worst run of league form at home for 10 years.

No, sorry. I meant at least the last Palace game you saw in person was a win. My mistake! I wasn't clear enough in my wording.

Oh, I see. Yes, it was a glorious day and an absolutely stonking result, that was the first time Palace had beaten top flight opposition who were top of the league (at that point in time). I think we're still paying for that karma now with our dreadful home form of the last two seasons.

It's a shame because even the Holmesdale Fanatics - the die-hards who sit in the lower Holmesdale (where I had my season ticket 15 years ago) who arrange all those excellent displays and generally keep the atmos going - are starting to get beaten down by the relentlessly poor home form, and as the stadium fills up with plastics and day trippers I fear the soul is being sucked from Palace bit by bit. But that's a discussion for another day...

I can identify with the woeful home form. Had three straight seasons of that

Like I said though, it could turn ou to be a decent season. 1 more win on the board and then worry about the quarter finals of the cup! I would gladly swap you at the moment.

I know you would Steed, as would Villa fans! I'm guilty of my own 'glass galf empty' pontificating for sure, but the season really is on a knife edge as I mentioned before: lose or draw the next two and we're right in the shit, win them and that's our EPL status virtually guaranteed for another season. And the longer it takes to reach the safety mark I'm gonna get even more nervous as the games start to dry up.

I understand the anxiety, it is part of the contract for a season tickets or my lot now. Enjoyment? What is that all about? . I crave the Quinn & Philips days. I wonder if you crave the Wight + Bright days?
