Yes, but the word is that de fanti (director of football) pushed for the deal. He brought in 12 players and basically destroyed our premier league dreams. Six of those players are in the wilderness and only good old Vito mannone has earned any praise.

Agreed.

Vito is a decent keeper.

As I see it, the problem area for me is central defence...O'Shea and Brown are past it now in my honest opinion, and whatever league you are in next season, I believe that defence is THE key area that needs addressing.

It is important but a 15 goal a season striker would have kept us up, no doubt about it.

For success, yes I agree. But there are plenty of dross teams who have beat the drop with a 15-20 goal striker including us when we signed Darren bent (hiss hiss) we were very average but bent came up with some crucial goals. Aston villa and Benteke is another example.

Obviously I can't speak for Wes, but I was down the City ground many years ago and I always remember the huge cheer that Pearce received when he came out to warm up. It was just as loud as the cheer that Clough is got when he came out befor match started. So, as an outsider, I am guessing it will be a popular choice.

P.s maybe they will finish second next year!

They still have a chance of the play offs but I say the forest fans should be happy.
