You were looking really worn out at the end, and your substitutions were largely pretty useless, I don't think it's fair to completely write off Leicester's impact into that. And it appears Leicester have done nothing today transferwise, great.

We still need a anchor defender and midfielder if we're going to get in the top 4. Carrick, Shaw and Herrera returning from injury will help but I don't think they're enough. I'd expect United to sign a world class central defender either in January or before the start of next season.

What do you think about the Wellbeck signing? For me he's a player who always flatters to deceive. Looks great on paper but doesn't really do anything on the field. Does have a lot of talent and potential though. Shame you couldn't take Cleverly too

On that note, what the hell is Cleverly thinking. He's done at United and should have taken the Villa offer.

I am still shocked we signed Welbeck because it took me by surprise and i didn't think that be a player Wenger would be interested in.
We had to get another striker with Giroud out injured till January and Sangoo is young but still raw at this level but i was hoping he bring in another defender because we are short in defence.
But we have to wait and see what Welbeck can do for us he will get more chances with Arsenal and i hope he does well for us.
I heard today that Cleverly will be going to Aston Villa on a loan deal for the rest of the season.

So Leicester signed two rejected strikers from Man U. Not exactly what I wanted but it works for me. Let's hope we can finally start sealing the great chances Mahrez makes.

It seems Leicester only have two kinds of players, over the hill or not even started climbing.

Mccarthur would have been a decent signing for you guys. Sounds like you had a frustrating deadline day just like us!

We at least managed to strengthen the attack, and luckily our next game is against Stoke, so I dunno. Maybe we'll have our first victory of the season, which isn't bittersweet.

Pulling someone back in the box isn't a penalty Ok

Whether it was, or wasn't deserving, is personally not the point to me. I love football, and I know it's sadly all part of the game, but when teams play for penalties and corners etc by throwing themselves theatrically across the grass it's just really pathetic and breaks the lovely flow of English football. It's the equivalent of a tantrum and usually results in teams winning, basically through cheating.

Agreed. My point is Liverpool get awarded penalties on a constant basis. They have been awarded more pens than any other prem league side and a decent number of them weren't even pens. Didn't they get awarded 3 in the same game at some point last season? I even remember Gary Mcallister getting a pen at our place despite tripping 4 yards outside the box lol.

The three penalties they got last season was against United but they were the right decisions by the referee that day steedeel.

Apparently even if you sneeze in English football you have to fling yourself ten feet into the air, land on your face, get medical attention and wait for the team to start fighting the other team.

Spoke like someone who hasn't watched him play for a year there David! He has been outstanding for us. It's always the same tired arguments against him. 'He never stays on the field'. Well, he received just one red card last season. He was influential in our cup runs and played a MASSIVE part in us escaping the drop. Player of the season and fully deserves a chance. He has brought more to his game and we love him in this part of the country. He won't play for England but that has more to do with location than his ability. He is still young as well. In my opinion, David, you are clueless.
As long as 'no slip ups' Gerard isn't playing for England I'm happy!

Outstanding for Sunderland doesn't mean you should be a International player besides kicking people off the park he offers nothing on a football pitch.

Ki made him look decent last season and he wouldn't lace Ki's boots.

Clueless this is from a guy who thinks Sunderland is a big club???

Moaning about QPR beating Sunderland that's your level.

Your a bottom half club fighting to stay in the league who struggle to attract players because Newcastle is the top club in the North East.

The first sentence proves to me (in my opinion) how clueless you are. Not to mention the fact that Cattermole is a completely different type of player to Ki. By the way, Ki absolutely disappeared for the last quarter of the season, a time when Cattermole manned up and proved what a fantastic, whole hearted player he is.

As for your other comments, I wouldn't expect anything else from a (in my opinion) glory boy who just picks a top club to support. Ummmmm, should I pick United or Liverpool? I love sunderland and always will, I was born here and that's all part of being a true fan.

Costa deserved player of the month, like a lot of footballers he could do with a longer fuse and a bit more sportsmanship but he's gelled with his team very fast - something I've often found new Chelsea signings struggled with when I was a fan during my teen years - and his skills as a striker are undeniable.

Speaking personally of my team, Stoke tomorrow, I'm hoping for our first three points as heaven knows we need them. Playing above expectations is meaningless when you have no points to show for it.
