I wonder will rodgers get all the money to invest and do you think he be under a lot of pressure next season if he goes another season without winning any silverware.

Is he really better than Navas though? I don't think so. Both are probably about as good as each other. Navas has experience though. Still though, ease off Sterling he only wants a Premier League winners medal, nothing wrong with that .

He is a great 'keeper and would be better of joining another team but come on Chelsea are a big team not a big club but they are a really good team at the minute.

I'm happy with the deal i was hoping for 35M so 49M is a brilliant deal for us.

On Begovic he could easily be the number one for 16-17 teams in the Prem so why join that lot when Courtois is in top 3 keepers in world football and is only 23.

I'm honestly a little speechless, to be honest. Pearson did the shift at the end, did he deserve to stay just for that? Maybe not. But hiring a Prem manager from over a decade ago, who has had nothing but failure in that time, bar for a few successes with teams not even in the Prems stratosphere???? The frig are they doing? He's like the worst candidate we had lined up.

The boy is only worth about £20m TOPS! I know you're paying for the potential but I just don't see it. Especially with the strop he through at Liverpool to get the deal done, a real footballer just accepts it, he should have stayed now there's gonna be this big price tag above his head and it just won't pay off... and this is coming from a City fan. With that money Liverpool will bring in players a lot better than Sterling for sure.

Yup, you're right. Arsenal would of been better going for him than Cech in my eyes. Cech isn't exactly that old but you'd get a lot more out Begovic at his age.

wow never knew there was a Premier League on here.

I got high hope for next season as quite a few club are signing some quality talent to their clubs. shock signing so far have to be Cech to Arsenal, schweinsteiger to Man Utd and Ranieri to Leicester.

Im a Utd fan but i can see Falcao being a hit at Chelsea next season due to their style of play. We defiantly need a new striker yet with both Falcao & Van Persie gone and maybe even Hernandez yet. Rumours i read over the internet this morning are Cavani or lewandowski but personally id prefer a cheaper buy that is lesser known otherwise we'd have the same exceptions of last year with Falcao.

Welcome to the thread as a Arsenal fan happy that we signed Cech and hope wenger will bring in another player before the season starts.
What do you make as a united fan of how van gaal has so far spent in total over 200 million on players do you think if united have a repeat of last season that what he spent and a another season without a trophy will come back to haunt him.

We never spend money well Aqualini Carroll Downing all waste of money.

I'd prefer Cech to Begovic, very good deal that for Arsenal just need to sort their back four out now and top striker.

Defiantly this is the season that defines Van Gaal at Utd. i believe the main problem last year was signing the big names for very big prices like Di Maria & Falcao. Because they was huge additions to the league everyone had very high expectations of them both. We didnt need 2 saviours last year, we needed a team of 11 top men proving they deserve to wear the shirt each week. Di Maria started very well, especially his goal at Leicester but problem was the back was still very shaky especially after Van gaal tried with just 3 defenders so after the Leicester defeat (was an awesome game from them) the morale dropped again like it did in Moyes seasons and they had a poor run of game again. Lucky we didnt lose to many but to many boring draws cost way to many points. Hopefully this season they get there passion back and full 11 men picked every week place as a well oiled machine again. If they do then it could be a great season.

im hoping Chelsea, Man.City and Arsenal all play at their best all season as well as Liverpool & Tottenham strengthening to threaten the top of table as id love to see 6 top teams battle it out all season with only a few points separating them but over the last few years every season, 1 team surprises everyone (Everton 13/14, Southampton 14/15) whilst 1 or more teams have a poor season (Man Utd 13/14, Liverpool 14/15).
