Given the disproportionate outcry to a couple of simple friendly posts, I really think there is more to it than that. Perhaps, the deep seated hatred for football arises from a traumatic event happening during their childhood playing days?, such as....

The repercussions of which have carried on to this day....just an opinion.

The funny thing is, I really *was* the lame asthmatic kid who always got picked last, I was terrible at sport. I can vividly remember one rugby lesson where I was sent flying through the air by a marauding classmate! But instead of growing up with this near-pathological hatred of sport I flippin' loved watching it and always have: football, cricket, boxing, tennis, and athletics in particular. I've also kept an eye on the NFL and NBA over the years and I love a bit of ice hockey too (go Red Wings!) though the lack of live UK coverage of the latter is a bit of a pisser.

TL;DR: Go sport!

I hate rugby. Our (IMO) jerk teacher was always experimenting with stupid new rules and forcing us to pick the ball up when we were playing footy. It ruined the afternoon and several of us got into detention when we refused and carried on playing football.

Rugby a.k.a. egg chasing is also the one that I've never been keen on, I don't understand the various laws and whatnot. It says something that I have an easier time following American Football than rugby!

Loved footy and swimming. Everything else was rubbish.

Rugby isn't the elegant game that footy is lol.

I love watching Rugby though, I know football is a "soft" contact sport but wow it's heaven and earth between footy and Rugby. Dudes are getting Vulcan Death Gripped and then about fifty guys are kicking him on the floor and the ref is just checking his watch looking bored. I have no idea how rugby players survive matches, but their necks must now be strong enough to lift cars.

2nd Jan -Feb 1st. Usually midnight on that date but I haven't seen the actual time limit confirmed yet. It was 6.30pm the next day in August to allow time for UEFA/Champion's League teams, (meaning teams involved in midweek games) to get their paperwork done. It was also bank holiday on the Monday so it skipped a day. It was all kind of confusing lol. I'm guessing it's the normal midnight job this time around.

Anyway 2nd February is transfer deadline day lol.

Curling! I love that, I don't follow it religiously but I love watching it whenever the Winter Olympics come along.

How's that old saying? "Football is a gentleman's game played by thugs, rugby is a thug's game played by gentlemen".
