But with a table this tight, points mean not prizes, not just a point. Serious questions are now being raised that if Vardy and Mahrez can't provide the goods, who can? Fuchs and Kante are both fantastic playmakers and we have a reliable defence but if no one can net the balls, why play with such an intense, attacking, mind?

And if we can't get all three against a ten man, relegation battle, squad, where can we get the points moving forwards? We've effectively got back to back games with Spurs coming up, once in the FA Cup and then in the League itself just a few days later and we still have to face Villa before we finally get a full week break again. Spurs are looking like title contenders at times, and if they beat us in the FA Cup and we take that into the game after I can see us getting destroyed. Then if we carry that into a club like Villa who are fighting for survival, I can see us struggling again.

Arsenal are slipping away, and pretty much all the way down to fifth place one or two wins while Leicester are just picking up points can see us clattering out of the top four all together within just a few weeks.

Any way, congrats on a big win, you might well just be back in this!

Bournemouth are playing decent though and fighting for their lives. Sometimes the hardest games are those games. Maybe it's because we are so desperate but I can't help feeling your glass is half empty mate! I mean, this is your second season in premier league!

Oh I appreciate all of that, but I just wanted Leicester to keep the run going, to not live up to the haters expectations.

Yeah lol, as far as I'm aware. Three games in one week period, which is pretty brutal, as we've effectively been playing non stop since boxing day.

Not sure how to feel about the FA Cup. If the worst does happen and our League is now effectively over ready for us to slip into a mid table finish, I'd like to see if we can use the final shreds of our momentum to try and go as far as we can in the FA Cup. But then likewise if we still do have something left in the tank, I'd hate for us to burn out during the Cup Tie and miss out on six points that really do matter so much right now.

Yeah, it's a pickle mate. If you sign some players soon, maybe that won't be a big issue?

I know it's a cliche but momentum is good so there is always that as well.

Ouch. Palace were poor today and they got what they deserved, Chelsea were simply better in all areas of the pitch. Their touch, movement and passing was a cut above. I hate it when Palace play on TV, we either look like world beaters or a pub side. Today was the latter.

But we're still 7th and a win away from 5th, we've gotta regroup and get the one thing in January that we've been lacking all season long: firepower up front. That we've got this far without a goal scored by a striker in open play is a remarkable testament to the squad, but the packed Christmas period was bound to put pressure on a team with some key absentees.

Villa away after the cup game against Southampton (couldn't give a monkey's), that they haven't won since the opening day of the season fills me with dread, it's the sort of run that Palace just love letting people end against them.

As for Chelsea, that win will do them the world of good, it wouldn't surprise me to see a rapid ascent up the table on the back of this.

Alli scores a worldy to equalise for Tottenham at Everton! What Palace could do with finishing of that quality, to pluck the ball out of the sky and tuck it away on the volley. Awesome.

What do you mean by haters expectations Leicester had a great start to the season and if they get a champions league place it will transform the club in the future.
I like Ranieri he is a good guy and manager but this has got nothing to do with haters expectations its about rivaliry.

As in, everyone pegged Leicester to go down at the start of the season and with every victory they effectively wrote it off as a fluke, while sitting around waiting for things to go wrong so they could say, "told ya!".

Geoff, this might be a good time for a cup run. Safe as houses in the table and would be a huge confidence boost I think.
