I agree the big clubs in Spain thought they could get away with it but i expect both clubs will appeal this so they can do transfer business in the summer.

Yeah I just saw Leicester's February fixture list, you thought it'd be a relief to finally get out of back to back fixtures but then BOOM we have pretty much all of the toughest teams in one month. Haha.

I'm pretty sure it was actually Defoe who forced Toronto's hand. No one forced him to go to the MLS but after he got here he started to get homesick and more or less demanded being sent back somewhere in England. Toronto didn't willingly take Altidore. It's not like they had a lot of choices on who to get back who'd accept playing in the MLS. So yeah no doubt they got hosed in the deal.

In fact he absolutely screwed the team and its fans in Toronto pretending he was happy there but behind the scenes pushing for a transfer back and then feeding some bs about injuries being the reason he needed to go back to England which is just a convenient excuse.

The fans hold A LOT of contempt for him in Toronto and I'm pretty sure he cost the team a significant financial loss. They had a freaking tv ad campaign about the signing for Petes sake. It all worked out for them in the end as Giovinco ended up being ridiculously good for them this past season.

Pah, the first two have been blowing hot and cold all season while Utd are the perfect cure for insomnia, you could get something out of all them games if you catch 'em cold. West Ham is a bit trickier, when they're on song they're a right handful.

Well we got zilch from our games with City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea over Christmas so I am not hopeful. We have done dreadful against the top teams this year (and Chelsea )

Apparently Leicester only want to sign Gray this January. I can't help but feel this a little misguided, I get that Ranieri doesn't want to upset the equilibrium but concerns about our squad depth are not unfounded.

Charlie Austin worth a punt Geoff? I'm undecided on him. It would be a risk but he might fancy Staying in London.

Austin seems like an injury prone big time Charlie to me so I'm not sold on him either, trouble is there's no easy solution here. Palace can't spend spend spend (they're desperate to sell Gayle to offset the FFP) so that's not an option either, we were rumoured to be looking at Shelvey and Afobe but two other clubs have swooped in with armfuls of cash and there you go, off they went.

We might as well take a punt on someone currently banging 'em in in the lower leagues, I'd rather that than some fly-by-night foreign mercenary.

I remember the days of Bright and Wright. What we would both give for that type of partnership Geoff? Quinn and Philips was ours but it seems a long time ago now.
