Darren bent. As a safc fan, what can i say? In my opinion we were massively let down by him. Looks like villa may get rid also!

Finally we have won tonight! Come on Sunderland!!!!!!!

My problem with Arsene is that he seems to believe that he can play a Barcelona…or, more like a pseudo-Barcelona style, with players that are not of the same caliber as the Barcelona club, nor….for that matter, Arsenal squads of the past.

Not only is that ultimately unproductive for him and Arsenal supporters looking to win….but it has become exceedingly boring for me to watch because I know that with that system and the players in place, there is such a low chance of success, i.e. a goal.

If the management won't fork out the dough to bring in world class players, then change the system and play more open and faster.

I agree with most of that penton man. However, I do think there are plenty of goals in Arsenal still.

sorry about the link penton man wenger will not change his system or his views on the transfer market and i can't see him making big changes in the january transfer market or for that matter on a big name signing as that is not his style.
The way we play is down to wenger when he first came to the club and can be a joy to watch but the downside to that is if the player's are off form and the oppostion are more aggressive and have more determation in there play arsenal just falls apart.

I don't know if he should delve into the January transfer market because I don't think there's much typically there any year.

My fear is that, the most the ownership will do in order to appease the supporters will be to sign one 'token' world class player come the following transfer market (after the Jan. one), which won't be enough and still leave us needing more.

I agree penton if we do sign one big name player it will not be enough to make a difference to our squad.

tob, you guys should go for Fellani and a striker. I feel he would bring much needed steel and plenty of class to your midfield. Good in the air and for a tall guy a lot of class on the ground. He is a leader and Arsenal need that. Think of great arsenal teams of the past? Tony Adams (natural leader) Vierra also leader. It is what I feel they need.

Well, my team were soundly beaten AGAIN. Defeat against Southampton and i feel it may be time for Mr O'neil to start walking.

By the way, good luck against Reading (we beat them so anyone can)

I never would have imagined watching and enjoying soccer, but after following the US women's Olympic run, I have become a Premier League fan of Chelsea. I just happened to start following them because they were televised a few times when I started watching and decided to stick with them.

I don’t mean to derail this thread from the Prem but given the fact tob and Stee are from across the pond (and who knows how many of you others are?), I’m wondering what the current thinking is in your neck of the woods concerning whether the Prem is still considered the best football league in the world, or has that mantle been passed to the German Bundesliga? I don’t get to see many of their matches (German) on TV here in the U.S.

What do English football fans think of the German league?

Agree, but we need that type of play with a team of the caliber of Chelsea, etc. The Reading victory was good for morale but will it translate into anything of true significance with regards to the rest of the season?

The German league is very strong,Bayern are of course a world class team but there are so many other very good sides,Dortmund and Leverkusen come to mind.
I believe Borussia Dortmund have received the highest average attendances for the last number of year's in Europe.
Whether the EPL is the best in the world is debatable but I would still say it is the most entertaining.
